We ate at The Cookhouse and thought it was pretty good. We split their Jumbo Trumbo platter and had plenty for the two of us. I would suggest skipping the bread basket though. The biscuits were terrible and the cornbread only a shade better. The meal was very good especially the brisket which is usually not my favorite. The fries... More

Birthday dinner celebration for my 74th year. We had good mixed drinks (I special tipped the bartender for mine) and excellent meals. We had the BBQ Burrito and my wife had the smoked turkey. We both had leftovers to bring home. Cookhouse is always good for a casual meal at a good price.

always good and consistent. food is tasty but maybe a little too much sauce for my taste so i ask for it on the side. happy hour specials are a treat and there are good local/craft beers on tap.

My family and I visited The Cookhouse for Sunday lunch, and I could not have been happier with our visit. The food was excellently prepared, bountiful in size, and a great value. Of note - we absolutely loved the fried pickles ! Our server was both prompt and attentive to our needs and requests. Just a great visit !

I'm sorry to say that our last meal there was just horrible. The chicken fried steak looked and tasted like it was left over from the day before. The staff brought us the wrong sides, which isn't a big deal, but added on top of the food, just added salt to the wound.

Typical BBQ fare in a typically BBQ joint setting. It is open until 10 p.m. (at least on the weekends) and the staff is friendly. There's a nice bar area with TVs and what seemed to be a good selection of beers and alcohol. The sliders are a good choice as is the pulled pork meal.

We love eating at The Cookhouse! The menu is a bit limited to BBQ type food but it is the best around! Great rustic atmosphere...bar area with high-top tables. Service is great, don't go anywhere else for pulled pork or chicken!

We made a special trip and turned around the car to go back to this restaurant because I remember the service was so outstanding...and it still is. But...the food..nothing taste good. The Pulled Pork sandwich was "bone" dry, the bread so dry and tasteless, the creamed spinach bland the carrots overcooked, the cole slaw poor. I never would have come... More

The Cookhouse may have won several "Best in Connecticut Awards", but they probably don't have much competition. The menu is more extensive and upscale than most BBQ restaurants. Modestly more expensive than you'd expect for BBQ. The Sweet Creamed Corn Pops are a delicious appetizer. The signature "Fat Tommy's" Pulled Pork Sandwich is good, but the Pork was a bit... More

A good choice for family dining. As you enter there is a treasure chest filled with little animal and other cute objects with a sign inviting everyone to choose something. The menu is varied and there area lot of choices. The staff, from hostesses to wait staff is cheerful, and very accommodating. The onion rings are probably the best I... More
