Love this place. Great food, excellent service, great outdoors atmosphere. Always a line because the food is so good, but it moves quickly. BYOB

Picked the hottest day of the summer and the place was packed. You wait in line and order your food. They call your name when it is ready. Many seafood items on their menu. The seating is outdoor on picnic tables and we were lucky enough to get a seat under the pavilion. My wife and son ordered the fried... More

Planned on lunch here after a few hours at the submarine museum. Could not wait. $40 for small lobster bisque, small lobster roll, and clam strip platter with medium iced tea. (Included a small $5 in the total). Very fresh and tasty. Lobster bisque had just enough lobster to make it great. The clam steps were delicate and not greasy... More

I've eaten at Captain Scotts several times being from New London. The whole belly clams are exceptional. I also enjoy the lobster bisque. They feature local entertainment on their outdoor stage - very nice location to eat a nice seafood meal and check out the music.

We were here about a year ago and though it is rather far from our home our recollection was that it was worth the drive. At one time or another we have hit many of the Connecticut shoreline seafood/clam shacks. Some are rather poor and some like "Lenny and Joes" and "Stowes" are very good. On this visit we had... If you are in New London Captain Scott's is a must. Great food and fast service. It only has outdoor seating, but it's right on the water and has a Pavilion to offer some shade.

My wife and I are from the northeast but have lived in Texas for over twenty years. We've lately been searching for a traditional New England lobster roll but whether in Texas or the northeast, we've paid dearly for stringy meat that has failed to satisfy let alone even look like a lobster roll. But today we finally found a... More

We were in the New London area looking for a restaurant on the water. Found this place on the internet and luckily had my GPS, which enabled us to find it. It was everything we were looking for! Typical "clam shack" with all the usual fried foods plus more. I love lobster rolls and I even had the option of... More

I was referred to Captain Scott's Lobster Dock by a friend who was aware of this hidden gem. It's not the kind of place you'd just stumble upon if you didn't know it was there. It's an outdoor lobster "shack" where you order your own food and wait for them to call your name. There is outdoor seating in a... More

My family and I frequently go to Capt. Scotts during the spring and summer. The fare is fresh and tasty. Lines can get extremely long on weekend nights and even some weekday evenings. Your best bet is to arrive before 6:00. If the line hits the pavilion, it will take a bit. The lobster bisque and fried shrimp are solid.... More
