Walked in the bar/restaurant on a week day..There was no one behind the bar..There was an African American short guy chatting with some blond girl. I think she was an employee. It took about five minutes for me to be acknowledged which is totally poor customer service..Finally came over with a pompous attitude..Never offered me a menu or daily specials..Seem... More

Started with large drinks for the price, Followed that with the most wonrful Lobster Bisque! Simply delicious! The 3 entrees of BBQ ribs while very tasty were a bit dry and over cooked. Our fouth had the seared tuna which was to be done medium rare came out on the medium well side but again very tasty. Deserts were shared... More

Saw some of the reviews but was only looking for a great lunch after a few hours on the ferry. We arrived with no one in the dining room but were pleasantly surprised to find great personal service and amazing food. Lobster Bisque was fabulous and you can't go wrong with fish and chips. Totally recommend Gaspar's for a great... More

Looking for a new place to eat so drove to new London and saw gaspars reviews. Unassuming location with no view even though near water. Building did not invite but we said lets go. Walked through a rather dingy patio into a small dining area. Was greeted by a very friendly waitress who took care of us. It was early... More

Ate at this restaurant late one evening - we had the lobster bisque, oysters on half shells, lobster pasta, and the poke salad. The lobster bisque, perhaps let down by the superlative reviews, was adequate. The oysters were a bit disappointing, not "unfresh" but weren't as tasty as we knew they could be. (Please have tabasco sauce available instead of offering... More

Average place with great location to downtown new london. The lobster bisque was fantastic as was the club sandwich. Had about 10 people for a graduation party and enjoyed ourselves a great deal.

Gaspar's has good food and good service but it's a little pricy for the area, which is the reason for four rather than five stars. Except for the costs, there's little to complain about. The menu is varied and always delicious. Good salads and a good menu for both lunch and dinner. Friends and I will eat there for lunch... More

We took family visiting from out of town to Gaspar's for their lobster bisque. It is by far the BEST I have ever had and I'm a lobster bisque lover and try it everywhere I go. It is thick, creamy, and full of lobster. We each had a cup as an appetizer before our entrees arrived and everyone loved it.... More

We went to Gaspar's on the advice of a friend who loves it. The night we went the food was ok but the price was extreme. I ordered three things on the menu the first two were out and my third choice was awful. The drink order was screwed up, I wasn't drinking, two different times. The atmosphere was good,... More
