Looking for a new place to eat so drove to new London and saw gaspars reviews. Unassuming location with no view even though near water. Building did not invite but we said lets go. Walked through a rather dingy patio into a small dining area. Was greeted by a very friendly waitress who took care of us. It was early... More

Ate at this restaurant late one evening - we had the lobster bisque, oysters on half shells, lobster pasta, and the poke salad. The lobster bisque, perhaps let down by the superlative reviews, was adequate. The oysters were a bit disappointing, not "unfresh" but weren't as tasty as we knew they could be. (Please have tabasco sauce available instead of offering... More

Average place with great location to downtown new london. The lobster bisque was fantastic as was the club sandwich. Had about 10 people for a graduation party and enjoyed ourselves a great deal.

Gaspar's has good food and good service but it's a little pricy for the area, which is the reason for four rather than five stars. Except for the costs, there's little to complain about. The menu is varied and always delicious. Good salads and a good menu for both lunch and dinner. Friends and I will eat there for lunch... More

We took family visiting from out of town to Gaspar's for their lobster bisque. It is by far the BEST I have ever had and I'm a lobster bisque lover and try it everywhere I go. It is thick, creamy, and full of lobster. We each had a cup as an appetizer before our entrees arrived and everyone loved it.... More

We went to Gaspar's on the advice of a friend who loves it. The night we went the food was ok but the price was extreme. I ordered three things on the menu the first two were out and my third choice was awful. The drink order was screwed up, I wasn't drinking, two different times. The atmosphere was good,... More

My husband and I went with good friends to dinner on a Saturday night for my birthday recently. The food was delicious, albeit a little on the pricey side. I had THE best lobster bisque for an appetizer. It was so delicious and creamy, with a hint of sherry, sweet cream and tender lobster meat. Hubby ordered four yummy oysters... More

Started with Lobster Bisque and a half dozen Oysters on the half. Oysters were very good while we thought the Bisque was on the salty side. Next came the Seafood Special (clams, shrimp, sea scallops and some local cod) served over a linguine lemon butter sauce, excellent! However we also ordered the steak with mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts and crispy... More

Enjoyed dinner at the bar. Restaurant was a bit quiet with a couple of tables taken and 3 people at the bar. Bartender was super friendly and helpful. He presented the specials very well. I ordered the Stonington scallops which were very good. Tender (5-6 pcs) on a bed of moist rice. Dessert was too sweet. Carrot cake (more like... More

Used to go here after work for happy hour and it was great, but I recently went for lunch and found out they changed the menu. My favorite apps were terrible! I believe they made a bad decision to change the food. Wont go back.
