The food at L'orcio is consistently above average. Go with the homemade pastas - you can't go wrong. I also enjoy the fried smelt appetizer - always delicious. Ask for a recommendation for a nice bottle of wine, and enjoy a leisurely dinner without feeling rushed. This is a nice restaurant if you'd like romance, but it also has a... More

We've been here before and I had a very salty meal. But we thought we'd give it a try because they really do have a beautiful outdoor space. After waiting over 30 minutes for an outside table on a very slow night, we ordered 2 appetizers and 2 pasta entrees. Everything was super salty. No need for salad or pasta... More

L'Orcio has a nice menu and lovely outdoor seating assuming the weather is right. Appetizers were varied and well prepared although small sized salads. Our party of 6 had Bronzino and steak and there were no complaints although some side dish with the fish would have been nice. The only real downer was when the bill came I noticed my... More

Hadn't been to L'Orcio for years and came back to be very pleasantly surprised. The outdoor patio in the back is beautiful and the food was wonderful. We split a very good Caesar salad and had amazing salmon in a green peppercorn sauce with light and delicious ricotta gnocchi. Also had cavatelli with an eggplant sauce that was flavorful and... I have bees few times and, being Italian, I was often disappointed by the menu. Nice ambiance, good (but somewhat slow) service. This time dinner for the 6 of us was very good. I loved the octopus appetizer. Good combination with vegetables. The pappardelle ai funghi were also quite good, with tasty pasta, perfectly cooked, and good choice of mushrooms.... More

The restaurant in an old townhouse is quite promising from the outside. The evening was nice and we were sitting in the nice outside patio. However the food was a disappointment to say the least. The salads were mushy, the bread stale, the burrata watery and the pasta grossly overcook. It come nowhere close to food from the Tuscany what... More

Food was average to good. The calamari in red wine was a mismatch, the sardines were very fishy tasting. The butternut squash ravioli was fairly good, although swimming in butter and the gnocchi in vodka tasted more like pancetta than anything... Dessert was absolutely excellent! Great tiramisu! Service was extremely efficient and fast, and the atmosphere very congenial. Outdoor patio looks... More

Went to L'Orcio with two other couples in April. Picked New Haven as one couple was coming from Fairfield and we were coming from the Hartford area so NH is a midway spot. Anyway, nice atmosphere and bar but the food was nothing special. Had a veal special (veal saltimbocca I believe) that was just average. The other guys in... More

Sat at the bar and ordered an appetizer and glass of wine. The two classless woman at the bar swore every other word and no one stopped them. I am not a prude but this was ridiculous. During their conversation they said they are single, that doesn't surprise me! I ate and left. No entree. Apparently they knew the owner... More
