Stopped on our way home specifically to eat at Frank Pepe's and get a Tomato Pizza (seasonal and advertised on billboards for miles around!). We had a party of 10 and saw people standing outside their establishment and was told the wait would be an hour--that's not gonna work with 4 kids!!! A half block further down the street was... Decided to have lunch at Abates, First I noticed the place was clean and busy. That's always a good sign. Wait staff was attentive and polite. Good selection of items on the menu, I settled for the linguine and clams with garden salad, Bread was served and was great and fresh, Salad was also fresh and quite large, The meal... More

Service was fantastic everyone was nice and very attentive. The star of the show was of course the food. For appetizers we got a side of meatballs and a side of sausage and New York style calamari with the hot peppers. We got the red sauce on the side. It's much better that way to keep the calamari crispy. Calamari... More

The pizza awesome as always... Soda horrible though but not their fault. Staff friendly and informational.

The place is a little dumpy and way old school; so is the pizza. Which is a good thing. Cold beer, nice vino and good service.

We have had pizza delivered from Abate on several occasions. For some reason we kept giving Abate a chance, Twice they said the delivery would be in 45 min - 1 hr. and both times it took 2 hrs. One time our order was wrong and always the pizza is cold! Today was their last chance. We had an issue... More

We went here for lunch, and you could order from either the lunch or dinner menu. When we got there at 1PM there were a couple of other folks there, but by the time we left the place was packed. I had the lunch lasagna. It was a nice-sized portion and delicious! And it came with a huge salad of... More

I have been here multiple times and it is always very good. Steak Pizzaola is a 1 lb NY strip smothered in a rich red sauce, awesome. Seafood Fra Diablo is big and delicious. When the lines to the other tourist traps on Wooster street are an hour long, go here and you will get the same, if not better... More

Like so many others, we came here when the line at Pepe's was too long. But this place really holds its own, good service, and terrific wood oven pizza. We started with a nice Caesar salad, then moved on to a clams casino pizza and regular cheese for the kids. Everything was delicious!
