Apizza has t be the best pizza in New Haven. They serve both red and white(without tomato sauce) thin crust styles with a variety of toppings. You cann taste the old style baking oven they use rather than the quickly prepared fast fod style pizzas commonly available Very casual place moderately priced.

We haven't been to Sally's in 20 years. It was a place we went often in our youth and was concerned that it would not live up to our memories. It was just as good as we remembered. The crust was nice and thin. The sauce was delicious. The toppings were well done, not overwhelming. The garden special had a... More

Sally's (Salvatore's in case you wonder) apizza is, like Pepe's along the street, "the" place for pizza. It is said that pizza originated here. In any case, it is the place to find out what a pizza should taste like, and never mind the bit of charring. Only problem, the long queue, long wait, so bring along something to occupy... More

This is hands down my favorite pizza on the east coast. I drive 2 hours often to enjoy the amazing crust and delicious toppings. Very simple old style menu and one server working non stop. You would like the retro ambiance. Be prepared to wait in line to sit.

We've been going to Sally's for over 30 years and have never been disappointed! Our favorite pizzas include the white pizza with thinly sliced zucchini, onions, and tomatoes. a red bacon and onion, and white clam--all with mozzarella. The crust is thin and crisp. No salad or wine is offered but there are beer and soda on the menu. If... More

You don't go to Sally's for the service, you go for the apizza. Hands down the best I've ever had. Don't sweat the toppings, even a red mozz will knock you out of your seat. Note to the editor: the name of the restaurant is "Sally's Apizza".

After having pizzas from almost all places in new haven, I feel they have the best pizza in new haven. It is thin crust pizza and the place has an old-school charm. They have limited options in terms of toppings, but they do it well. Cash only and expect wait times.

Yeah Yeah Yeah, You have heard all about Pepe's and Modern, Please don't get me started The #1 Pizza ( in the world) as far as I am concerned, is Sally's bar none. Let me tell you about the sauce the coal fired oven, and oh the summer special is phenomenal. But be prepared to wait, and not the friendliest... More

Just walked out of there. The restaurant wasn't even full but the waiter didn't even acknowledge us after 10 minutes and proceded s to have a conversation with a customer who walked in after us. The table was filthy... and like I already mentioned it- no service!
