I made a reservation on open table but was running late, so called to let the restaurant know. The person on the phone was extremely rude. My reservation was for 9pm and they just said repeatedly that they didn’t see my reservation on the screen...and the kitchen was closed. I said okay well I’m running 5 minutes late is there any way you could possibly please accommodate and they just said repeatedly that they didn’t see my reservation and this was Cava New Canaan and ultimately hung up on me. I was really disappointed and assumed I must’ve made a mistake with my opentable reservation. I double checked the email and I did not make a mistake. Needless to say I went elsewhere but it was really a frustrating experience. 1- there should be a better customer service experience from someone answering phones and 2- you shouldn’t be able to make reservations for 9pm if the kitchen closes at 9.More

We visited Cava Wine Bar on Saturday, March 13th, and witnessed an excellent staff who were incredibly welcoming and kind despite being quite busy! The food was spectacular- we enjoyed the eggplant parmesan appetizer and crispy artichokes, and for entrees, we adored the pear salad,...the Margherita pizza, and a custom ricotta gnocchi. As vegetarians, we often fear that we may not find more options and get nervous about asking for accommodations. But at Cava, we not only felt welcome but fully accommodated, with the server suggesting ricotta gnocchi with tomato sauce as a delicious option! The tomato sauce here is to die for, and the quality of the food is fantastic! In terms of drinks- I enjoyed a fabulous Cava Infusion cocktail which was delicious! It reminded me of a tropical pineapple juice almost! We were also able to enjoy a beautiful bottle of wine. We had the Tiramisu and the Profiteroles for desserts. My mom just loved the profiteroles for the delicious vanilla gelato filling and decadent chocolate sauce, mixed with a crispy and delicious pastry! It was a unique and beautiful dessert (and quite large as well!)! The tiramisu was fantastic and so incredibly rich in flavor! Both desserts were a great compliment to a beautiful meal! The ambiance of Cava Wine Bar is EXCELLENT! It has to be our favorite place in New Canaan and is worth a visit!More

We were looking forward to dining at Cava but had a very disappointing experience. Food was average but portions were small and prices were expensive. Biggest complaint was with the staff. About 30 minutes after we sat down, we were told we would have to...leave our table in an hour. This was the first we had any knowledge of this. They started cleaning the table before all were finished their meals and delivered a check along with dessert. Within minutes of getting the bill, the hostess was at our table asking us for our credit cards. The staff turned a potentially lovely evening into a very disappointing one. Won't be back.More

We were a party of seven for lunch after church. It was a very nice atmosphere both inside and outside. We ate inside because the weather was rainy. All of us enjoyed our meals. The appetizers, salads, and entrees were all good. I would recommend...Cava to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere with very good service.More

Cool semi-underground corner location right off the main street in New Canaan. We went for a dinner with another couple and enjoyed some great italian food, fresh bread, and some amazing wine. The room has a rustic modern feel, lots of rough wood panels, dim...lighting and a nice long separated bar area. The crowd skews a bit older (we didn't see anyone younger than 40). The service is attentive and you never feel rushed. Nice place for an upscale dinner. Reservations needed on weekends for sure.More

Horrendous experience all around. We arrived and we chose a moderately priced glass of wine. It tasted like vinegar, along with the next two alternatives the waiter suggested. By the third the waiter warned us that he would charge us $4 each to try another...glass. Mind you we should have walked out at that point, however we stayed as our daughter liked the restaurant. The food was just horrible this time and my wife and I experienced a bad case of food poisoning. We used to enjoy coming here especially in the summer months when high could sit outside. There are far more options in the surrounding towns and when we go into NYC. We will never come here again as the service and quality of food has deteriorated.More

We had dinner here and the food and the atmosphere were great. The chicken scarpariello was amazing and portion was very big. My friend had the sea bass which she said was excellent. The wait staff was very nice. Would recommend.

We went here for stroll and even with the crazy crowd the service was very attentive and personal. My food and drink was delicious. One person in our party received a plate that was not what they expected and they really took care of us...to make up for it. This is a restaurant focused on making your experience greatMore

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here - fried artichoke hearts, roasted beets salad, crab cakes, branzino. Good wines by the glass. Service was good, but not outstanding. There were two large parties, but otherwise not full. We’ve been here many times before,...and always enjoyed it.More
