Came on a Friday nt and bar was packed! Had the shrimp enchilada special - beyond delicious. Lindsay, the manager is hands on and delightful, Best place in New Canaan!

I used to LOVE Tequila Mockingbird... they’ve got the best ground beef tacos around for this Tex-mex loving gringa. BUT! Since they’ve changed management / owners, things just haven’t been the same. Prices have gone up and food quality/quantity has gone done. The margaritas are...delish but now cost $12 each. For those who care to keep reading: I order the tacos americanos with soft shells and ask for the half order since 4 tacos is just too many. Before new change of hands, I got no push back, now every time they’re like ummm... and I have to say, well for literally YEARS this has been my order. Tonight was the third strike of messing things up... a different person brought out 4 tacos and when I told them it was wrong they said ‘oh we don’t do that’. The waiter apologized later saying the kitchen messed up, but proceeded to charge me for 4 tacos... I didn’t even eat more than the 2. My husband ordered the shrimp fajitas, and after having a bad experience before this with getting a dismal amount of steak, asked , “how many shrimp does this come with?” The waiter who I’ve never seen before (hope the regular guys that have been there forever are just on a day off) said “not sure how many, but lots of shrimp!” The shrimp Fajitas came out with just 5 shrimp. 5. They give you 4 tortillas for just 5 shrimp for $23?! Sorry... tequila mockingbird has gotten a 3rd stroke in our book and I’m going to find it hard to go back with other better priced and just as good Mexican places around.More
A new menu so if you haven't been in a while you really need to make time for a visit. Excellent food, excellent service and again, the best margaritas north of the border!
Food is just ok. The Resturant does not appear to be the cleanest and the service is just ok. There are much better places in town.
The food here was excellent and in some cases healthy. I would go back. It is down a staircase from the street, not on street level. In winter it was cosy.
I when there on a week night and was surprised at how busy they were. The service and food were excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Stopped by for a late weeknight dinner with family and we weren’t disappointed. Very friendly service accompanied by excellent food. Burritos, tacos and chimichangas all delicious and fresh. Four of us went to dinner here and when we arrived it was clearly very busy. We got a table after 5 minutes though, as they had said. Place has a great atmosphere and is kind of fun. We have a couple of people with...allergies to ingredients that can be common in Mexican. Our waiter listened and went to check even on the dip that we would be ok. No fuss and very attentive to this which was great. Gave some great recommendations and food come in a reasonable time. Everything, and I mean everything, was well presented and delicious. No move to try and hurry us along and waiter was very friendly and the right mix of attention without hovering. Check was surprisingly reasonable and for the excellent quality of food a welcome surprise as New Cannan can often be overpriced. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will be backMore
Been coming here for years and always have an excellent experience. The best Margaritas around (caution, restrict yourself to one). I've been to Mexico numerous times, and the food here is authentic. Friendly, courteous and attentive staff. Baja Fish Tacos are my fave.
The entrees are delicious. I especially liked the pork from a prior visit. The bar is a great place to hang out without kids
Four of us went there Thursday Night for Dinner, it was amazing food and service. Only thing I can recommend is Hotter sauce , it was good for my buddies but not hot enough for me.
We order here whenever we just need that TexMex fix. Easy for Take Out - ir Festive to eat in. Tacos el carbon is my favorite - beef! Guac and Green sauce is also awesome and fresh. If you order Guac - you will need...extra chips i bet. Great.More

Took a friend here for drinks. Great selection of drinks, good food. We came on the earlier side of the evening so the service was good but I'm willing to bet it would be good even if if were busy. I liked that the staff...we encountered seemed to really know what they werw talking about and helped us pick some great stuff. The name itself is alone worth the visit.More
