Best potato pancake I think I ever had. I had the jager schnitzel and it was very good. In addition to the potato pancake, it came with German slaw, horseradish cottage cheese, corn, turnips and rye bread. Everything was wonderful and tasted great. For under $15 the amount of food you get is phenomenal. I will be making this a... More

The best unique German Food & Beer restaurant in Connecticut. Great party with live music. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest.

Was told not much in Connecticut, Was passing through and stopped for the night. Found this unique German restaurant, Do not have to like or get German food. Atmosphere was delightful. They do a song when a patron get a certain size mug of beer and get the whole place to participate. So, if in mood for good food and... More

We just went to Eastside yesterday and my stomach is paying for it today. On Sundays, apparently you are forced to choose from a limited menu, all of which is 4/5 courses and very pricey for what you get (30 to 36 dollars). I ordered the short ribs which were chewy, tasteless and tough. Half of the meal I threw... More

We went to The Eastside to celebrate a 60th birthday, a 75th birthday, and a 63rd wedding anniversary. We immediately all got hats and my biggest regret is that we didn't get a group shot. We went on Saturday for lunch and it wasn't crowded, and as usual, the food was great, was piping hot, and was plentiful. We started... More

Have been craving jagerschnitzel for years and they did not disappoint - $33 included appetizer, entree and 2 sides, and a small dessert. Authentic German beer was delicious and well priced (7.95 for liter). Service was excellent with waitstaff wearing lederhosen. They even had a guy playing German songs on an accordion and you could buy steins and glass beer... More

Having been to Eastside over the years, I have to say the main attraction of this place is the kitchy atmosphere and the year round Oktoberfest atmosphere, complete with a Lederhosen-wearing accordion player, waitresses in dirndl dresses and pigtails, and pass-around Viking horned helmets for those all important selfies. However, the price paid for those embellishments far exceeds the quality... More

We were treated to dinner by friends and we all turned up early on a Wednesday evening. The first problem was the drinks. The waiter got the order wrong, bringing only 3 out of the 4 drinks and then it took ages and a reminder from me before they brought the 4th drink out. The appetizers were delicious and the... More
