Great German Food and a fun place as well

The East Side restaurant is my go to place for wonderful German food. They have a wide variety of German specialties. Great beer, available in giant steins. The servers here have fun. New Britain is certainly known for it's Polish food but this German place is the real deal. This is a great... read more

It is the restaurant, which saved Germany restaurant spirit. I has good interior, entertainment, and beer.

This was our third time going to this restaurant. All were for different occasions. This one was for a family birthday party. Our first time was amazing and new. This time, was lack luster. I have always thought the food was good but over priced but I think for the experience we over looked it. This time the crowed was... More

Very fun casual restaurant where silliness is encouraged. Crazy hats a must. Huge delicious beers. Great service very friendly servers!! Best liver pate always a favorite. Warm fresh bread. Great portions. Short ribs are so tender. Full course meals including desserts. Apple strudel and all kinds of cream pies. If someone is naughty spankings are provided. The owners make you... More

I love The Eastside and haven't been in a few years. Two people had never been there and loved it and the food! They make the BEST potato pancakes! Can't wait to go back on a weekend!

We were totally unprepared for the experience we had at the East Side. The atmosphere was jovial and amusing. The food was excellent and there is a very large menu with what seemed an accommodation for almost any taste. It is expensive but we hade a great time as well as a good meal, our party of four had a... More

My husband and I dined here on a very quiet Sunday night. As usual, my husband ordered the duck and requested that it be crispy. Our friendly and efficient server promptly brought us the appetizers and salads that are part of the meal. When our entrees arrived we all laughed about the size of the half a duck -it was... More

My only disappointment was the staff was clearly not German speaking nor really that informed about how things were pronounced, BUT the food was wonderful. For lunch we split the wurst platter and all were prepared well and served nice and hot over some sauteed sauerkraut and was served with a nice mustard. The pickled cucumber and the cottage cheese... This place is just a great fun place. Wonderful beers and be sure to have the really large one!!! Great beer and great singing with the service. Tons of good schnitzel and other hearty food. Come and bring the family for a nice time.

Went for my husband's birthday. He enjoyed the beer very much. We got the "wurst sampler" which was delicious although we all agreed that the smoked one was the best. We also got potato pancakes. They also had potato pancakes mixed with pulled pork drizzled with bbq sauce. We got two orders of this because it was so incredibly good!... More
