This is a typical fried food shack that is only open during the warm weather months, AKA tourist season. The whole fried clams are very good, greasy but tasty and not too salty. They have a bunch of other stuff but I haven't tried it enough to give an opinion. I'm a local that lives within walking distance. If you... More

We saw this place featured on Rachel Ray's 40.00 a day show and since we were in the area, we knew we had to stop. I am so glad we did too because the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again the next day! The shrimp tacos are amazing and tasted... More

I'm a fried clam fanatic and you just don't get any better than Sea Swirl. The fish sandwich looks amazing too - this is a very seasonal place but if you're in Mystic, you have to go!

We wanted belly clams, a NE fav, and this was a good choice to obtain them and enjoy. And we did. Also very good ice cream. Order , wait, retrieve , sit at picnic tables and enjoy

If you like fried seafood and ice cream this is the place for you. At first glance this looks like a typical ice cream stand, but the menu includes much more. Mostly fried seafood choices. The food was excellent, my choice was the fried shrimp dinner. The portion size was perfect and it was fun to sit outside to enjoy it.

A roadside ice cream place with the charm of a 1950's drive up. This place hasn't been touched since the Nixon years or before. Needs a good amount of sprucing up (cleaning too maybe). The soft serve was good however with lot's of flavors to choose from. Don't get there a minute before closing since they will turn you away.... More

I ordered the cod sandwhich and it was good. I wish I was hungrier and had more time so I could try more menu items.

Lobster roll was delicious no mayo and it was cold. Price sounded a little high but for the amount of lobster was well worth it.

Love, love, love Sea Swirl. The absolute best scallops, direct from Stonongton (literally in their back yard)! I have had scallops in many places, but none are better, so big and sweet. This place is a summer requirement for anyone anywhere near the CT shoreline!

Sea Swirl of Mystic was formerly a street side Carvel Ice Cream shop. It is located at 30 Williams Avenue at the junction of Routes 1 & 27 in Connecticut. Sea Swirl offers the best of fried clams and fantastic seafood plus has one of the most beautiful sunsets on the horizon. Outdoor dining overlooks the flood tide and customers can enjoy delicious ice cream as well.

Sea Swirl may seem like an unlikely place to find four-star food, but for many years now, it has sustained a deserved reputation as one of the finest places to eat fried clams, especially the whole-belly variety. Sea Swirl serves a full roster of expertly fried seafood, including scallops, shrimp and fish. For an alternative to seafood, there are hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches and more.
