Located in a historical house in downtown Mystic, the Captain Daniel Packer Inne has seating in a lovely parlor-style restaurant upstairs or a cozy pub downstairs. We chose the pub specifically to try their fish and chips which did not disappoint. Crunchy, beer-battered fish with a generous helping of hot fries-perfection! We also sampled the clam chowder (excellent) and the... More

It was a true night ruiner for our group of friends when we arrived at the pub for a drink and they wouldn't allow one friend in because they didn't know what an authentic RI drivers license looks like. We are in mystic... About 5 minutes from the RI boarder. Maybe the bouncer was just really new and didn't have... More

First it is too expensive and the food is just so so - not bad but also not great. The tavern side is probably better than the restaurant because of the atmosphere. Their crab cakes were good but the clam chowder was lacking clams and way too creamy. For a nice summer meal better to find a place with an... More

I have visited the DPI on-and-off since 2007. Tonight my second glass of wine upstairs at the dining room was VERY WATERED DOWN. Who would serve that? The explanation given was that a bottle of wine tipped over. Really? DPI is under more competitive pressure; I get that. Whoever is the manager needs to know that this is not the... More

My family (2 sons, 11 & 13, and husband) went here after our sunset sailboat cruise. I can't say enough about how delicious the food was and how friendly our servers were. Highly recommend eating here if you get a chance!

Last minute phone call to DPI resulted in a 5:00 reservation for 5 adults and 4 kids. We were really excited since we hadn't eaten here but heard good things. Our waitress was really great getting drinks and apps to us quickly. The little ones appreciated that. She had good suggestions on what to get and we were not disappointed.... More

Nice restaurant as far as atmosphere but definitely overpriced for the food quality. I had a Penne Pasta with scallops and roasted (or stewed) tomatoes in a garlic, EVOO type sauté which would have been better if the pasta wasn't overdone and scallops not so small. My sister had the filet mignon (cooked medium) with the house sauce which I... More

Excellent service. Our lunch salads were generous, fresh and very tasty. Steak addition was a generous portion and done perfectly. Recommend

Ok so after two amazing dining and service experiences I decided it's time to give this place a review. My first time dinning here was last summer during a day trip to the Mystic area, and this past weekend. I was lucky enough to find this place after visitng the Mystic Aquarium and needing a meal before heading home. I... More
