With a sign on the building claiming it to be the quarters of one Gilbert Morgan, mechanic in 1868, the yellow two-story clapboard building has a humble, relatively nondescript facade. But once inside the tavern, with its stone fireplace, well-worn wooden floors, and seating arrangements imported directly from Ireland, the Harp and Hound Pub has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our first night in Mystic, after a day visiting Mystic Seaport, we stopped in The Harp and Hound for a light dinner. Great service, friendly waitress and bartender! We ordered the Shepard's Pie, which was very delicious! Decent draft selections, comfortable, friendly atmosphere.

Great Sunday brunch, a hidden gem. A great local pub, beer, food, and nice staff. Always friendly... casual and Irish in the best way, welcoming, a good place to relax.

Nice atmosphere. I even talked to a real Irishman. Drinks were excellent. The cups for some specialty drinks were cool.

It was quiet when we came in, but filled up fast for a band that was going to play. We went to watch the USA game. Luckily there were enough tvs to watch the college World Series, too. Food was good. They added their own spin on the lobster roll, which was small, but delicious.

Great place to stop in for a beer and a bite to eat. Along with the usual beverage choices, the Harp and Hound offers some local brews - we were offered a sample before actually ordering so felt more confident in trying something new. Music on weekend nights added to the vibe. Staff was very friendly, remembered us from a... More

My husband and I discovered this quaint Irish pub while exploring the town. Fabulous local beer on tap served and discussed by charming and knowledgeable bar tender.

We found this pub by accident. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different beers the pub carried. I seemed to be a local hangout and was quite crowded. We will be back.

We stopped in for some drinks during our day visit to Mystic. They had some sort of Bar Crawl going on so it was pretty crowded. There was a good live musician playing and they had a decent selection of beers. Overall, there is a good atmosphere within this place. We didn't eat here so I can't comment on the... More
