Absolutely the worst fried calamari I have ever been served. If it was not takeout, it would have never been presented to a table in the restaurant. Burnt leather rings and barely recognizable tentacles that were inedible. Such a disappointment, and I will never go...back.More

Our group stopped here after a funeral. Since it was still before noon many pizza choices including a few varieties of breakfast pizza. Been eating pizza for many decades, but never even heard of breakfast pizza. One just one variety, but a few. Ignored all...the other options to taste the different choices. Not something I would order every time, but a good option when eating pizza at noon or a little earlier. Bartender was prompt with drinks, alcohol and non-alcohol. A new experience for me.More

Went for drinks and music. The first drink was good. The second (for everyone at the table) was second rate trash. Why do they do this? Bad experiences in the past also with their food and rude service. Nothing redeeming about this restaurant to come...back to.More

This place is full of variety, mostly Italian dishes, but they have other things. The staff and the music events are phenomenal. The food is freshly prepared and really good. I am a sucker for their meatballs.

Vero Cucina is one of the best restaurants in Middletown! We always have an awesome meal there. It is THE only restaurant where the owner interacts with the customers and ensures everything is to their satisfaction.

We went there for brunch and had the choice of the whole menu. I had the grilled cheese and noni soup, simple but great. Then we took home the tiramisu yum.

Food at Vero is always great. Pasta dishes and grinders on the freshly baked bread are hearty and delicious. Their fresh bread is outstanding. Their pizza reminds me of my younger days in NYC & NJ - wonderful crispy crust, plenty of gooey cheese and...tangy sauce, and fresh & tasty meat and veggies toppings. Our waitress Italia was so sweet and always came back to be sure we didn’t need anything. This is my third time back and will be back soon. Love this place!More

Had a very nice experience here last night (5/6/22). Arrived early for dinner with my daughter. We chose to be seated in the lounge area where they had a small 3 piece band playing some great music. It was not overly crowded as we came...early and service was fantastic. Ordered the Zuppa da Mussels, the smoked salmon on toast points, Caesar Salad and Seafood Fra Diavolo . Everything was fantastic. The drinks (Blood Mary, Hawaiian Breeze? maybe) were great as well. Waitress service was awesome as usual. Any occasion out with my daughter is always something to remember but the music, drinks and great service in the lounge area made it a great occasion.More

We went on Father's Day for lunch. What a treat....the food was delicious! We even brought home pizza for later. Our server, Amora, was delightful...even though she was so busy she never acted flustered or hurried. We got to speak with the owner, Tsasos, when...he came out of the kitchen to speak with his guests. We LOVE that in a small place. The location is not ideal (you look on to a parking lot) but the food more than makes up for it. Don't miss out on this little gem of a spot.More

Stumbled across this place by accident AND IT WAS MEANT TO BE!!! Even before the Covid19 issue we ate here all the time. Now that they're just doing take out I love it even more. They are cautious and caring with the orders and will...bring it to your car while you wait. I haven't even mentioned the food yet! Everything I've ever eaten here was delicious! THEY BAKE THEIR OWN BREAD and it's amazing. Do yourself a favor and take the 6 minute ride from Main St and check it out!!!More

Been here a number times, and we've never been disappointed. The outward appearance makes you think its just an average pizza place, but do NOT be fooled! Some of the best food and most varied menu around, even compared to some of the more "famous"...competitors locally. For a welcoming, pleasant and rewarding experience we love this place compared two some of the others. The Spaghetti Carbonara ($16.95) will absolutely make your eyes water perfectly cooked pasta and great blend of cheeses. Always get a Caprese salad ($9.95, I think...) with it....it's fantastic, and I've only ever had one other that is comparable, nationwide! Veal marsala top notch. The bread....yes, even the bread...is fantastic. Mostly we like schmoozing with the owner and his staff - always ready to shoot the breeze with you! Prices are not the lowest in town, not the highest either, but probably the best value in town for the quality of the preparation and presentation, and the varied menu. Recommended! Probably don't need reservations, but never hurts to call. (written during Covid-19, but been many, many times prior!)More

We were recently married in a private ceremony and wanted to have a local gathering for friends and family. We had heard great things about Vero Cucino Rustico so we stopped in a few months prior to inquire about having an event there. The staff...immediately put us at ease with their welcoming approach and genuine interest in our celebration. After going over the details and seeing the private room we would be able to use, including a full bar and plenty of space, our choice was easily made and we had great confidence knowing our party was in great hands. Before we left after enjoying a wonderful meal with very attentive service, the owner, Taso, took time to speak with us regarding our event and put our minds at ease with his caring, empathetic, and very professional approach. And to top it all off, the owner handed us a delicious loaf of freshly baked bread as we were leaving! On the day of our event, we arrived a few hours early to set up and were given free reign to decorate and re-arrange anything to our liking. The staff and owner immediately welcomed us and assisted us with any questions we had while also providing a very positive atmosphere. The owner even went out of his way to provide an external speaker so we could play a special playlist we created for the day. As guests began to arrive, the staff was fully prepared with an array of delicious food, ranging from appealing appetizers to various types of pizza. In addition, the bartenders/waitresses Sue and Amaya could not have been more attentive or pleasant when serving drinks, or helping our guests with any requests that arose. Knowing everything handled by the staff was working like clockwork (with a personal touch) allowed our guests and us to immerse ourselves in celebrating our love and devotion to one another, which was our biggest hope for the day and we can truly say was fully achieved. All of our friends and family raved about the food and service, with many taking leftovers home to enjoy. We could not have been happier with our experience at Vero Cucino Rustico and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to host a private event where they will receive phenomenal cuisine topped with highly accommodating service, or to anyone looking for a first-class pizza pie!More

Visited Vero Cucino for the first time last night. Wish we hadn't waited so long to try it! We eat out a lot and have gotten tired of paying high prices for mediocre food. Vero Cucino has gotten us excited about dining out again!!! The...Caesar Salad was by far the absolute best we have ever had!! They should market their dressing!! My husband had Chicken Francese with Vegetables instead of pasta. Who would ever imagine zucchini could be so delicious! And the chicken was tasty and tender! We tried the Mussels with Marinara, and they were small and tender as can be! The Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms were better than we've ever had before! The service was excellent, and most importantly, all the food came out piping, steaming hot! The owner/chef came out to see how things were, and engaged in a very pleasant and informative conversation. He really cares!! A GREAT experience!!More
