Discovered 1741 Pub & Grill after hiking at Millers Pond State Park last week~we Googled places in the area and thought we’d try that, not knowing anything about it. Didn’t look like much from outside but so glad we went in~much nicer inside, simple and...modern with wrap around views of the golf course it sits on. Sunday football on a few large screen tvs in the bar and dining room, but not loud & noisy. Hostess and server were both very welcoming and attentive from the get-go. I had house chili, boyfriend had beef stroganoff, and we shared cauliflower poppers~all were delicious! The specialty drinks were also great. The bill came and we thought it was more than reasonable, at about $47.00. Compared to another overpriced tavern we’ve been frequenting, that we also enjoy…usually runs about $100 for the same amount of food, drink. They have a wrap around deck that overlooks the golf course and should be fun in summer. We will definitely go back.More

Outstanding service! Food just okay

The wait staff at the restaurant was absolutely superb. The ladies were welcoming and attentive. Decor and ambiance in the restaurant itself was clean, updated, and warm. Still decorated for the holidays but it was classy and modern. The outside of the restaurant is extremely...unassuming - we honestly couldn't tell it was a restaurant outside of a small banner and the internet telling me it existed and was open. Went on a Sunday night around 5:30pm and there were only a few tables there, easily accommodated our party of 4 adults and 5 kids. We were on the same property as the restaurant and golf course for the American Lantern Event. Menu had variety of safe and classic meals - nothing super extraordinary but perfect for anyone to find an item that sounded good to them. This is in no way a complaint. All our kids were pleased and able to pick an option (Mac & cheese, chicken tenders, cheeseburger, hot dog) big portions as not technically a kids menu. 2 special menu brisket sandwiches were just okay. Not tender enough. 2 specialty burgers were a good average tasty burger - while good, a little dry. Terrible? Absolutely not. Really great experience! Just has room for improvement.More

Good food, great time

Had the best time at Lyman Orchards' 1741 Club + Grill. They had Dennis Bosse of Steps and Sounds djing under a huge tent, and Tammy Bosse provided a bunch of line dance lessons. The tent has a beautiful view of the golf course. All...the food that come out of the kitchen looked delicious. I had the caprese salad, which is really an appetizer. The portion was generous, beautifully presented, and oh so yummy! I really hope they do this type of event again.More

Dueling Piano Show Under the Tent

My family and I were on vacation in the area and looking for something fun to do with our 2 teenagers. We saw an event listing online for a dueling piano show under the tent at the Lyman Orchards Golf Course and decided to give...it a try. The entertainment was fantastic and the full menu provided by the adjacent 1741 Pub & Grill was delicious! The wait staff was so nice and the ambiance of the tent - decorated with white tables and folding chairs and hanging chandeliers - was the perfect setting for a summer night overlooking the golf course. This is not your average, greasy pub food. Everything was prepared fresh, the menu has a nice variety and the prices were very reasonable. It's the perfect spot for a date, lunch or dinner after a round of golf, or, yes, even a family with 2 teenagers!More

Valentine’s Day Special Dinner

We had the special fixed price dinner in a Saturday celebration of Valentine’s Day. And while things were not perfect, overall it was five stars. The cornmeal crusted shrimp and bluepoint oysters were served on a plentiful bed of mixed greens with shaved manchego cheese....Served for two, it was good but not great. That was followed by a rose infused tangerine sorbet. It was outstanding. Our entrees were a filet mignon and salmon with lemon buerre blanc. Both were well presented with superb flavors, although, more greens on the plate was unnecessary. Mashed potatoes with beet purée also quite good as were the Brussels sprouts with bacon and cheeses. Both were served to share. The dessert of a flourless chocolate torte with what tasted like house made vanilla bean ice cream. It was very, very good. Some minor marks against, the dinner rolls were tossed into staleness and water glasses were not refilled. So a quarter star off, but everything else was worth the experience and more.More

Amazing holiday cocktail !

Came here on a recommendation from a friend while here on business and everything lived up to what he said . I ordered a drink from the Holiday cocktail menu and it was amazing ! It had peppermint and Godiva chocolate in it . Wow...! I also ordered the lobster cornbread fritters and the Parmesan brussel sprouts for appetizers and a burger for my main meal . So tasty and generous portion sizes. You can tell they take great pride in all their dishes. The place is super clean and I felt comfortable dining in as I could see the staff constantly sanitizing everything. Also you can’t beat the prices for the appetizers. I’ll definitely be back .More

Had an informal meeting with a colleague. Burgers were tasty and the draft beer hit the spot. Wonderful service, even the manager came over to say hi. And I brought home a specialty salad for my wife. Will definitely be coming back, Mark
