Our cuisine draws from the Mediterranean and Istrian culinary traditions. We offer fresh fish every day (reservation is required for special requests) as well as various meat dishes that can be cooked over an open fire. After a beautiful day, walking on Kraski rob above village Smokvica we got hungry. On the way to our walking path I drove past by restaurant Kraski rob. It looked nice and promising. I did not have to think twice. We were welcomed warmly and got a table at the fireplace which was ok so we were not could :)
I ordered Tortellini filled with shrimps and ricotta, my son ordered fried calamari, and we had also gnocchi with shrimps. Food was delicious and super tasty. We ordered house red vine I was so fresh and good, right choice.
Stuff is kind and funny to kids.
They would deserve 5 points for sure but I will let them some room for improvement, portions could be a bit bigger for this price.
Next time we will be around we will for sure come back.

We had a great lunch here. We were there with our 3y old, so we were very happy to get the toddler seat and the staff was very kind and made jokes with her. We had antipasto of bakala and octopus salad which was very tasty. For mains we had home made gnocci with goulash and ones with scampi and also plate of mussles. Everything was very tasty and the servings are just big enough. Salad from their garden was a great companion to the dishes. Will definitely come back. The price was very good for the high quality of the food.

Local restaurant offering products from local farmers has become my new favorite restaurant in this area. Delicious food with seasonal delicacies and super friendly staff with special personal touch. Very professional and flexible. You can feel the hospitality runs in their blood. The food was so good we visited the restaurant twice in one day. That tells you all.

We decided to pay a visit based on reviews. But..
When we arrived and told for the reservation the waiter just showed us the table, removed or better throwed the reserved sign on the adjacent table.. And he was gone. The place was pretty packed so we thought he's a busy guy and let it go.
As we later found out there are (for the waiter) 3 types of customers. The local guys who drink there (nothing wrong with that) but they are making such a noise so our plan for a quiet meal was out of the window. We could not hear our own thoughts. Sadly enough the waiter who always finds the time to stop and joke with them was the loudest of them all. The second type of customers are his friends at the tables. For them he also finds and takes the time. And the third are the rest of us.
They charge you 2 € for the cover and for that money you get nothing. Zero. Nada. Not a greeting from the chef, not even a napkin. So if you do not have a tissue with you, you have to be inventive. Or leave with your mouth dirty. Sad enough.
They do not offer you a "grappa" at the end, they charge you the coffee.
Don't get me wrong, what we had or order we have to pay for. As other places do if you refuse the grappa they offer you coffee. Not all truth be told. It is just how you treat the guests. We had the feeling they just want to charge you for the air you are breathing there. I know it is their choice how they run their business, but it is our choice to return or not. And for this place is a not.
For the end, the food was ok. Nothing out of this world but tasty. If it was not for the above mentioned we would return. Maybe

We stopped en route to the airport by chance and, by God, were we glad of it! Fish soup, beef soup, gnocchi with shrimps, gnocchi with venison, fusi with truffles, calamari, everything was really tasty and delicious! We finished it off wIth home made custard pie and panna cotta. Great food, good value!

The restaurant is located along the state road that leads from Piran to the San Škocjan caves.
The interior of the restaurant appears simple and familiar.
Moving on to the food, as an appetizer we had some scallops au gratin, and they were very good.
Next we ordered grilled calamari and fried calamari, both served with baked potatoes and vegetables (I think chard), and I must say that both versions of calamari satisfied us.
The final panna cotta was delicious.
Very kind and attentive staff.
I recommend this restaurant for lunch on the way to or from the San Škocjan caves (also because there are no alternatives along the road)

I never had a better Risotto in my entire life. Also the pasta was so delicious!
The Prices are good for the high quality of the food.
We are sleeping at the guesthouse next to this restaurant so its perfect for us to reach it.
Really can recommend it.

We stopped at the restaurant on our way back home from Croatia. We arrived with baby and stroller. The food was ok, nothing special but good. The thing that bothered us was the attitude of the staff. The service was not good at all. We felt unwanted, they were cold, unfriendly. We will not visit again.

Very good restaurant where I stopped on my way back from Koper. Quality products served under an arbor, the view (depending on the angle) will appeal to construction workers because the motorway bridge faces! From starter to dessert, a taste delight.

Super address not to be missed. The food is very good there for a very reasonable price. The shrimp gnocchi are extraordinary, and the spaghetti al vongole are fabulous. The staff is extremely friendly. the desserts are amazing. in short, do not hesitate and go for it.

A perfect place to enjoy the evening. Staff was very friendly, kid enjoyed the terace. We ate black risotto and recomended fish with perfect wine.

We stopped here for a late lunch after nice day on a coast. The restaurant is right beside the main old road to the coast in Črni kal. There are tables on a terrace and noice from the road could be annoying but there is not a lot of traffic.
The food was great. We tried some seafood appetizers and pasta. Very good. Maybe just a little slow service. If you are not in a hurry you should be ok.
