Stopped by for dinner on a visit to Madison. Loved the food, as always, and introduced our friends to another place we live to visit.

Tried the fall menu today and it was wonderful: pumpkin soup, pumpkin risotto and bakd ziti siciliana with eggplant and meatballs, and the fried zucchini sticks were all delicious. The service is excellent, the wine list is very good. The bar was packed and bustling on a Friday evening but we got in without a reservation.

We have enjoyed many a dinner at the Café. We also chose this as our rehearsal dinner venue for my daughters wedding. Absolutely no complaints here.

We brought our daughter and son in law out to celebrate their first Anniversary . I wanted it to be special and it certainly was! Our waitress was wonderful , the antipasto platter that we had as a starter was delicious ! The salads were crisp, cold and perfectly dressed and everyone loved their meal. I have to say that... We Celebrated my birthday with dinner at the Allegra cafe. It was delicious and we will definitely go back. Our waitress was wonderful (blond hair, sorry I don't remember her name)

We happened upon this restaurant, drawn in by the linen tablecloths and old-world decor. The menu outside looked interesting. Unfortunately our meal was disappointing. We began with appetizers--escargot and an eggplant special that was similar to a ratatouille--chunks of eggplant, cherry tomatoes, capers, olive oil and basil topped with cold grated cheese. The eggplant was slightly undercooked and although the... More

We've been here for lunch many times. Their pork dish special is excellent. Even if you don't go on a Tuesday, the chef will make the pork meal for you.

Allegre Cafe can be counted on to deliver consistently good Italian food. We're still partial to a few favorites: a starter of panne cotto made with escarole and cannellini beans, bread, salad, and eggplant rollatini and eggplant parmigiana. Delicious, comforting, satisfying The bar up front seems a little less stuffy than the more formal restaurant in the back.
