At Picante’s South West Mexican Grill, we’re taking Latin American cuisine to the next level. Our menu is made up of authentic recipes created by our owner and includes everything from fajitas to wings. Since 2016, the Lakeville community has been dining at our unique, casual atmosphere while enjoying our tasty food. With indoor and outdoor seating, you’ll be able to experience Picante's magic year round. When you’re ready to treat your taste buds, stop in for a specialty margarita and our famous molcajetes.

A hidden treasure..

Wow!! My brother & I were scouting Appalachian Trail parking when we found this place. Had a great lunch, brilliant flavors, great experience. We don't live nearby but I'll definitely be back...

Great for celebrating a birthday!

We had a birthday to celebrate for my daughter’s fiancés birthday. Seven of us came. We sat at a long table in the front. The decor is fun Mexican with famous people on the walls. A television was a little too loud for me but did play fun Mexican music. I had a great margarita wig a beer that poured in slowly as I drank it! Fun! I had a chimichanga that was great! We all had yummy food with a bow of the head to their guacamole! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Ambiance was great. TV was distracting to some.

We ate here on a Saturday evening. The food was great and reasonably priced. Very nice atmosphere. The only issue was that we only saw 2 employees. One was primarily the bartender who occasionally helped the one lone server who was taking care of both inside and outside tables. We felt bad for him. He was doing his best but was very overworked.

Delicious food, a nice atmosphere, and great service all makes for the perfect Saturday night, and we're thrilled to see that we were able to provide that to you. As for the lack of employees on the floor, we were a bit understaffed but we made arrangements to relieve that server and add some extra members from the kitchen out to the floor. Stay away from. Horrible doesn't even come close as a descriptive.

Having requested a table in the patio area - as we were standing by the table ( which still had to cleared from the previous patrons ) - the gentleman seating us used the back of his hand and forearm to clean the heavily faded and dirty plastic tablecloth. It got worse from there. The complimentary salsa and nachos arrived shortly - with a complimentary long dark hair peaking out from under the lining of the basket. As if things weren't already going in the right direction our entrees arrived pale and tasteless. Hooray! What a great experience. Place appears to by owned or run by someone who doesn't care, and staffed by young adults with the same mindset. Great night out for Hindus looking to fast.

Really Bad Experience

I thought that I'd share my recent experience with this establishment in the hope that people take notice. I made dinner reservations for my family at Picante's in Lakeville on or about January 25. The reservations were confirmed, party of 6 for 6:15 on Feb. 3. At 11:22 a.m. on Feb. 3 I received a phone call from a gentleman at Picanti's (with whom I had spoken with just a week before ) saying that they would not be able to honor our reservation because they had booked a party of 45 for the same evening after I had made our reservation. I said, "how can that be, you took my reservation." He really didn't have a good answer to that question. I cannot comment on their food as I wasn't afforded the opportunity too and frankly, I'll never know. I wouldn't give Picanti's the time of day let alone one dime of my money. One star is the lowest score I could give.

this is in the parking lot of the motel I stayed, making it convenient. The food was good, service was good. They have indoor/outdoor seating and a bar. Nice addition to the area.

Picante’s Southwest Mexican Grill

We were staying nearby and decided we wanted Mexican food. So I looked up some restaurants and we decided to come to Picante’s South West Mexican Grill. It is such a cute place and you feel like your in Mexico. It’s a small but very cozy. I was with a friend and we ordered the guacamole and the muscles as an appetizer and shared. Both of the dishes were delicious. I had the chorizo chimichanga and my girlfriend had the Mexican hamburger. We enjoyed the food very much. They also have a lot of specials so look at the board. Definitely going to go back the next time we are in town. They also have a full bar and the margaritas were the best!

My wife and I have dined here three times. Each time the food has been authentic, high quality and superb. The service is friendly and efficient. By far the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Worth a drive to.

So when we checked into our room at The Inn at Iron Masters there was a menu for Picante'Southtwest Mexican Grill.We were hungry so we took a short walk from our room to the restaurant.We were entranced with the atmosphere..so authentic with Mexican music playing and the decorations on all the walls.The woman in charge was gracious and friendly and we were told that all the locals love the place.Our food was so delicious and filling.It was the best Mexican food I've had in recent memory.If you are ever in Lakeview Conn stop in and have a fantastic authentic Mexican/Southwest meal

We found this place by chance one night and have gone back several times. From the warm and friendly greeting to the delicious food, this place is fantastic. Last night we shared the chicken tamales appetizer and a house salad (huge and filled with great stuff for only $5) and the chicken fajitas. The fajitas are delicious - a nice portion and seasoned so nicely - no commercial fajita powder on these, just moist, delicious, and flavorful. On previous visits we've tried the molcajetes, which are these big stone bowls filled with delicious things. They have many different kinds and they are unique and delicious. If you like things hot, ask for their house made hot sauce. They also have a lot of specials so do look at the board.

14th birthday party

What a fantastic little spot. Food was excellent but service was even better. I took my daughter and a few friends to celebrate her birthday and our waiter went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time and a great meal. Highly recommend.

This is a hidden gem in sleepy Lakeville, CT. The place is hard to find, but once there, you will not be disappointed! Fresh, tasty Tex-Mex served in a welcoming atmosphere by friendly folks. The quesadillas are great, the guacamole served fresh at tableside, the entrees are generous and delicious. Apparently they aren't allowed to put up a bigger sign as yet, which is a shame, as the place is just too good to pass by.

The guacamole and the beans are very good. The sangria was okay but tasted more like a non-alcoholic punch. The pico de gallo was tasteless. The chicken in the enchilada was good, but the sauce was over salted and almost nonexistent – this was also the complaint by two others in our party. It is unlikely that I would go out of my way to come back here.
