Renewed or wedding vows after 10 yrs of marriage and made reservations for us and 6 family to dine at Axiotissa! The setting was beautiful, food was good but not exceptional, with service being a bit indifferent. Unfortunate as we had heard so many good things and saved it for one of the last meals out after two weeks here... More

Some of the most fantastic food I have ever eaten. I'm a chef and a bit on the critical side as one habits in my profession. This food was just spot on delicious! A lot of care seems to go into every dish including sourcing local and organic ingredients. Ask for Sophia, who is such a lovely and welcoming person.

A creative, exciting mix of Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine that leaves your palat overwhelmed and your senses excited. Definitely the best gastronomic experience on the island of Naxos and possibly one of the best tavernas in Greece that glorifies local ingredients and takes traditional recipes to a higher level. The ambience is nice and unpretentious, the stuff is friendly... More

Exceptional traditional greek food with local products. We had kebab and "katsikaki tsigaristo" and both were really great. The salad was amazing too. The service is very good and you don't wait to be served.

Axiotissa is maybe the most well known tavern in Naxos. Finding a non reserved table during high season is quite rare but totally understandable when you taste the food that is served. Great local even homemade ingredients (cheese, greens, meat etc.) are combined amazingly and treated with respect resulting into tasteful dishes that keeps the local traditional cuisine but with... Very poor quality food, the kitchen surely needs some cleaning, mostly locals as clients (less demanding of course) and not the most friendly staff. The location is more suitable for winter time. It was very hot and very humid. When we left a mouse was hiding in the garden.

If the kitchen was dirty we would not invite the customers to come in and pick the fish they want. Our taverna is known except from the food, for the many cats we feed. Do you think that a mouse could survive? It's a pity that you write these lies anonymously because we could speak at the court. You see,... More

I'm sure the food is great...but my girlfriend and I really weren't made to feel welcome at all. Yes it was busy...but I don't think a smile and being polite takes a lot. We waited for 15 mins...while other customers pushed past us and were served immediately. Shame as I was really looking forward to eating there.

I am sorry that you had this feeling which is not true, we welcome all customers, but obviousely while you were waiting some people who had booked tables arrived and we had to take them to their tables. When we returned to talk to you you had already gone, so we never had the chance to talk to you. Please,... More

Had to book 2 days earlier for a table. Very nice environment with really friendly and efficient service. All the ingredients where from local agriculture and in top quality. Great variety of excellent dishes. This place is really worth a visit. Thumbs up!!!!
