A very nice local we met told us that he can not stress enough how much we have to eat there - and to be honest after checking tripadvisor comments and the comments of the owners we were a bit skeptical but still decided to...give it a try. And thank god we did, because it was amazing - the best dinner of our island hopping tour of mykonos, paros and naxos. So good this is actually my first ever tripadvisor review! We only regret 2 things: 1. That we were just 2 and not in a bigger group so we could order more food, especially appetizers to share. 2. That we did not come back the next day as we initially planned to, because we were far away and one of us was craving seafood pasta (I still regeret it!) It is not overpriced - especially in comparison with other restaurants we ate in on the island, not to mention paros or mykonos (much worse food, worse vibes, bad service, more expensive). To give you an idea 2 app, 2 mains, 2 desserts and half a liter of wine were about 45€. As the local put it - I can not stress enough how much you need to eat here - the vibes, the taste and the raki at the end of the meal, that was so good we had to take some home. If we ever return to Naxos it will be to bathe on the secluded beaches of the south followed by dinners in Axiotissa.More

The only exceptional are some dishes in the menu, which you can hardly find in other restaurants. However, our dishes were mainly salty, but not flavoured and everything was missing a lovely, personal touch. This is better in at least two other restaurants in this...area. Our evening was ruined by a lot of smokers on the terrace area (never had this problem in greece since 15 years) and a very loud band, playing spanish songs (just silly). A reservation was needed, it was clearly not worth it. Waiting too long for ordering, clearing the table and the bill.More

The only good thing about bad reviews is that they are really bad.

This was a restaurant that it was highly recommended and also it was very busy when we went to have dinner . Unfortunately the food was really poor , we had many dishes starters , main. It was unbelievable . The lamb which is famous...in this island because is local production and we thaught it’s a must was so bad and dry , even the salads were so mixed and the sauces so unsuitable . My friend had a fille , very expensive plate , it was so bad and smelly that she gave to dog . The prices were also so high for this kind of food . I suggest you avoid this overpriced and unreliable restaurant .More

Sincerely looking at your profile and the way you judge other places but especially the islands nature , monuments and even the weather l consider the two star rating a great compliment. You really must have an overrated ego to think you can rate an...More

Overestimated and overpriced. Even though the taverna's yard is beautiful, the meal itself was mediocre at best but the service (young man) was friendly and warm. I wouldn't recommend it.

Dear friend the issue here which is something you didn't address is: Are we mediocre because are aims are scaled down or is it because we aim high?

We went 3 times and we still could decide which dish we prefer. Whatever you taste is delectable. The owners are very nice and we can feel the real passion and love in their kitchen.

Do not fear what the bad reviews say about Axiotissa (or the person answering them) because they are quite harsh and not quite objective. We went to axiotissa 3 times with my family during our stay on Naxos. Every time we came without a reservation,...they always found us a table. Every waiter who took care of us was always friendly with their own character. The food is good and organic, the service is efficient, the atmosphere is friendly, and yes, if you do not like nature, or cats, or cows, or moskitos, don't waste time going. Otherwise, pay them a visit, we loved it every time!More

I have heard a lot about this restaurant, that's why I had great expectations, but the result was medium, according to my opinion. Ι would prefer i hadn't heard anything!! Nothing special with the salad, I didn't like the kebab, the pork was OK, the...beef burger was very delicious, indeed, the fries were crap (why do they not cut it in smaller pieces??) overall, if you are near the area, go and try. If you are not, there is no reason of visiting, unless you want a small excursion. Friendly service, medium pricesMore

If you hadn't heard anything you would have probably placed us higher 😅 because you wouldn't have had great expectations. Generally in life when we have expectansions they often lead to great disappointments. I have often pondered about it myself. Is Human imagination better than relality?...More

Axiotisa has definitely good reputation and after our visit there, Ι believe it's just good marketing. All of the plates was unsalted. Falafel was worse than those made with ready mix from super market. Roasted eggplant with tomatoes and cheese was even worse. Imagine a...bitter eggplant at the bottom with smashed tomatoes over it and cheese on top baked for few minutes. No olive oil, no onions, garlic or any herbs. Last but not worse, shrimps with lemon sauce. Just average! Fried okras was was a different fair approach. I have to admit that service was fine and they were typical on measures for covid19.More

Although you'll struggle to find a bad meal on Naxos, Axiotissa is a cut above. We went twice, and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. As a family of 6 (3 English and 3 Greek), we ate like royalty there. The food is unbelievable, service is with...a smile and although one has to book in advance, it stands to reason and justifiably so. The restaurant has vibe and character, an ever changing menu and a great selection of drinks, too. Whilst not the cheapest, it certainly couldn't be called expensive and you feel that you get what you pay for. Of all the restaurants we ate at in 10 days, this firmly remained our favourite. Keep up the good work folks, hope to see you again in future.More
