Most recently, I met my wife for dinner after work. Plenty of booth seating with lots of old photographs to look at on the wall. I love how the antique cook ovens face the dining area to entertain guests. The lighting, cozy atmosphere and terrific food make this a great spot.

We are visiting Hartford CT. On our tour of the New England states. A friend of ours is from Hartford and recommended First & Last for a great pizza or any Italian food we might want. We thought we would give it a try and we are so glad we did! First and foremost our server Rose Was such a... More

Stopped here on a recommendation from a local. Lots of Italian choices. Large portions: we split both an entree and a salad (great green salad with fruit and goat cheese!) and still couldn't finish it all. Lauren was an excellent server: kind, friendly, and attentive.

It's all about the sauces...they're amazing. Calamari was lightly breaded and the marinara was fantastic. The pizza...otherwordly. Really special. This was my first time and everyone said oh wait til you try Frank Pepe's pizza. Guess what, I'll take First and Last's pizza every day of the week. Thin crust, again, great sauce. Great pie, Our waitress was probably part... More

This is the first time we ever did take out from this restaurant. The pizza is not nearly as good as when eaten in the restaurant. By the time we got home the pizza was cold. They packed it in a bag rather than a box which surprised me since it was a very large pizza.

The food is ok. The pizza isn't that memorable. The bread is however very good. The service was terrible. The waitress was rude to our large group and not very attentive. After we gave her a low tip (a reflection of the service we were given), she confronted our table. She accused us of being bad costumers and she didn't... More

Gathered family for lunch including a relative that is battling cancer. Marty, our waiter was warm, attentive and accommodating of our guest's special dietary needs. The owner, Diane DePasquale visited the table and was so very nice. GREAT food too!

The establishment is situated at a fringe of Hartford, the capitol of Connecticut, the first State to ratify the Constitution of the US. Their menu contains mostly "Italian" recipes. But the décor resembled an old English public house The walls were filled with 1800's - 1930's photos of the period. OMG, ABC, XYZ, there were no TV screens; there was... More

You can eat in for breakfast or lunch, or take out superb bakery goods to enjoy on your own. We have eaten many different bakery items here, all of which have been wonderful. My personal favorites are the lemon poppyseed muffins, the double chocolate muffins, which have a layer of chocolate at the bottom, and the pecan sticky buns, which... More

Moderate pricing with good quality food and good service. Bar area is casual and good for quick and informal dining. Summer time allows for dining in the outside patio.
