I have attended this restaurant for a family gathering after my nephew's christening. Arriving the service was very warm, open, friendly and helpful. Dining at this BBQ/Soul food restaurant on multiple occasions it's never been an disappointment. Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment...... everything went downhill after finding a blonde hair within my plate of food mix in with green... More

We came into town for a show and met some friends at Black Eyed Sally's for something to eat before hand. Service was terrible...waitress didnt know the menu....table had no silverware, we had to request it....ordered food that took a long time to get, and when we did get it, all of us were disappointed I got blackened catfish. There... More

I don't have a lot of exposure to southern food but I heard someone talking about collard greens on the radio the other day and knew this place would have them, so I went in. Basically, I don't like collard greens. Not what I expected and not to my liking. But many people do! I tried the gumbo here too.... More

Visiting for the weekend we were looking for something different to eat and a fun atmosphere. We ended up coming to Black-Eyed Sally's and weren't disappointed! I had a salad from the menu and it was nothing to talk about but my friend had the brisket and mac and cheese and it was awesome! Fun place to go - live... More

I love my BBQ, and I judge BBQ joints by their pulled pork. The pulled pork was better than average - truly slow smoked. Unfortunately they only put a small dollop of bbq sauce and there was no bottle of sauce on the table. THAT is very unusual for a BBQ joint. The corn bread was moist and tasty, above... More

Their food is great and the atmosphere fun. Loved the chicken. Big portions that were great for sharing. If you love a little spice, this is the place for you!

Love the food mostly but it's a cool place with decent beer on tap usually and a great vibe. Catch an offbeat band here or just fill your great gaping maw with an awesome selection of southern inspired dishes. Everything's good here!

Great blues/jazz bar and grill with live music. Wonderful Cajun food. Huge shrimp in my shrimp and grits! My husband had the best jambalaya he's ever eaten! Pleasant, efficient staff. An easy walk from many downtown hotels. A don't miss when in Hartford! PS: Corn bread is like eating cake!

Food pretty good, service not so much. It wasn't the server, I think it was the kitchen--all our meals came out at different times. Still, it was a fun place and the menu items are unique. Would definitely go back and give it another shot!
