Lovely visit again with work colleagues and this time we brought our dogs in an area set aside for dog users. Friendly and efficient service in lovely surroundings. Will visit again without doubt.

We came here as a party of 11 for a bit of lunch. The menu was extensive and the prices reasonable. The food was reasonable quality. We sent the very average looking plate of 'filleted sardines' back to the kitchen as they weren't filleted. I had soup which was excellent with delicious crusty bread. Other than the dull plate of... We come here quite often, about twice a month at least. Sometimes we just stop off during the day on a dog walk, warm up by the fire with a cappuccino. It's dog friendly, which is great. We also have had dinner here at least six times now, either as a couple of with friends, and have never felt disappointed.... More

Just what the doctor ordered for a lunch break after cycling on a rainy day. The fishcakes were good, probably a bit too fried. However, the chocolate tort dessert was one of the best chocolaty things I've ever eaten. I sat by the fireplace, which is always a plus for me.

We had sunday lunch here whilst staying at the caravan site along the road. We were with family including 3 children. and the staff pulled out all the stops to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. Good food, good prices. Recommended.

I booked a function at the Barge Inn. I had never been to the area and took all the information off the internet. The owner was very helpful and we get everything sorted with one phone call and the rest via email. When we turned up we were made to feel very welcome and everything that had been planned was... Always a busy pub, and when you visit you'll understand why. Fantastic food, eaten nearly every main on the menu and all fantastic. Good local ales, friendly staff, especially the owner and what a fantastic location right on the k& A canal. Beautiful beer garden and dog friendly. If you ever visit melksham or Devizes it's a must visit.

We were passing by and were looking for a place for a quick bite of lunch. The Barge Inn is an old country pub right on the canal and offers a full menu. The only thing I didn't like was that it looked like it could do with a clean every now and then and the fact that dogs are... More

Haven't visited The Barge for probably 10 years so was interested to see if the food was as good as before. Bar service was a little indifferent - very busy lunch time with some local 'equestrian clientele!' Who were rather dominating the bar area making it slightly difficult to be served. However the food when it arrived was lovely -... More
