Went for lunch here yesterday. We arrived about 12.15 and found a lovely spot in the garden. I went inside to order the drinks, however there was quite a long wait as there tills were down. Some customers were getting a little inpatient, however as I'm in the restaurant trade myself I know these things are sent to try us.... More

I decided to go for a lovely walk along the canal towards the Barge pub at Seend to walk my dog and have a little treat of a lovely coffee and piece of cake, something I very rarely do, so as you can imagine was really looking forward to it as it was such a lovely day. I arrived at... More

We wanted to go for a walk with a great pub at the end of the walk, the barge inn was a fab place for this. They even have a dog friendly area inside if the weather is not good. we sat outside watching the narrow boats go by. The food choice was wide and would suit anybody. It had... More

We moored up here for lunch and were not disappointed. The staff were lovely and the food very good. The clean plates said it all in our party of 6. Dog friendly too . Bowls of water dotted around. Pigs ears on sale in the bars which went down well with the dogs. 😀🐾

We consistently use The Barge, as a pub stop off for family bike rides. The last time we ate at the Barge was Fathers Day and the food and service was fantastic. My husband and I took my sister out for dinner on Saturday night and the pub was very busy with quite a lot of young children. Our table... More

We're on a canal holiday, 5 by now, slightly twitchy adults, 1 grumpy teenager and two big stir-crazy dogs. We had hoped to reach here the previous night, but couldn't. So lunch it was then. We arrived before opening and chilled in the shade and lovely beer garden. Come opening time we got drinks and menus. The interior of the... More

Despite being told via email that they were "very dog friendly" that in fact only extends to half a dozen tables around the (very dark) bar and outside the toilets. None of which have any views of the canal, since there is a bar extension in the way (don't understand why dogs couldn't go in there, it was part of... More

A very pleasant fairly large traditional canal side pub/restaurant with a garden/outdoor eating area overlooking the Kennet and Avon Canal. An extensive menu reasonably priced. The food was very tasty and the portions generous. Service was very good as was the selection of ales and ciders.

There is no question, this place is in a great location - right by a canal, with a landing place for your boat and lovely gardens to sit in and watch the activity. That about sums it up though, as the food and service as not really up to standard. I visited for Sunday lunch, which was advertised as being... More

Being tourists in the Cotswolds we enjoyed watching the canal boats and this was a sensational spot to see it when we visited for Sunday lunch. I think I ordered incorrectly as had the fish and chips which were all batter and grease while the neighbouring table had ordered roast of the day which looked delicious. Massive servings but not...
