To start with, the place has an odd smell when you walk in. Stale tortilla chips and somewhat passable salsa to start with (thank God it was free). I had "The Big E" (3 enchiladas: chicken, shredded beef & cheese). They were lukewarm and not very flavorful. The cheese enchilada seemed to be a bland cheese of some kind and... More

We went on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was pleasant and the service attentive. They had a nice list of draft beers. It was so long that I didn't even ask about bottled beers. The menu was Mexican/Southwest with some items that I hadn't seen in other Mexican restaurants. The salsa had just the right kick.

We went there early on a Saturday - around 530. We had a party of three but only one person ordered an alcoholic beverage. Maybe if we all did, the food would have tasted better. To quote one of my guests - on par with Taco Bell- a statement that I disagreed with. Taco Bell is better. We had Nachos... More

I've never had a bad meal at Aunt Chilada's, but I cannot think of an outstanding meal either. While much of the menu falls in the Mexican category, this would not be the first restaurant I would bring visiting Mexicans to if they wanted an authentic taste of home. Like other reviewers reported, if the parking lot is full, you... More

Went back for more. But, here's my secret to Aunt Chilada's. I go early or at odd times. I don't want to get mixed in with the Quinipiac college crowd. I've seen that place turned into a zoo from them. If there are a dozen cars there, stop in. If it's packed.....forget about it. Good Mexican food and specials. Avoid... More

I have not been in a while, but what I remember is that the food seemed equivalent to a frozen dinner that had been microwaved. I could do that at home for a quarter of the price. The service was slow and the dining room was quite drafty in the winter, to the extent that we had to keep our... More

Came for dinner when in the area. Was an average dinner with decent food and good service. Nachos were good and a large portion. Queso got thick quickly. Chili was VERY spicy.

Needed a Taco fix ! Aunt Chilada's sure did the trick. Great burritos and tacos. Great dinners, specials and salads. I love their salsa and chips. Try the burrito and a nice cold beer.
