Thomas Henkelman is the best restaurant in the state of Connecticut.
If you live close enough to drive to Greenwich try it. It’s also an Inn so you can plan an overnight stay.
Service is excellent.
Food is terrific.
Appetizers were delicious.
My wife had...duck that she totally enjoyed.
My steak was cooked exactly as ordered, rare plus.
My only complaint is I really like chocolate and there wasn’t a true chocolate dessert. I can’t be the only diner who would like a chocolate dessert.
The wine cellar is phenomenal and we had a wonderful burgundy with dinner.
It’s not cheap but you get a superb meal.More
We went for our anniversary this year tonight.
This place is excellent especially during a pandemic. Tables are spaced, masks are worn.
The food hasn’t skipped a beat. My wife had lobster bisque, duck and the special dessert they all were spot on.
I had...fois Gras, steak and the chocolate soufflé cake all spot on.
Service is professional, efficient and friendly.
My wife said why don’t we come here more often it’s the best place around. She’s right. We waste a lot of time and money going to inferior places for a few dollars more we can have a fine dining experience. It’s well worth it.More
We returned to this wonderful restaurant after
a prolonged absence due to travel and the
virus enforced closure. Different year but same
wonderful staff, excellent food and all around
outstanding dining experience. Looking forward
to our next visit. Highly recommended.
From the champagne to the service to the food everything was outstanding !! Our server George was very attentive. The asparagus and lobster soup was amazing and so was the sea bass! We were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and this is the place to...go for a special celebration The atmosphere was cozy and romanticMore
The setting is historic and charming, the staff is professional and friendly, the food is amazing and worth travelling for...it's a special experience that really delivers a classic fine dining experience. The bar is also so charming and worth making time for pre or post...dinner cocktails. This is a real treasure.More
Hadn’t been here in a while... giving it another try. Beautiful meal!! The shrimp appetizer was excellent and the presentation was amazing, the lobster dish was very different... the tail was cut into two inch lengths, still in the shell! Delicious. My husband had the...tuna app and it was wonderful! He had the halibut with gnocchi... thought it was a nice thick piece of fish was served over the gnocchi.., only looked big, cooked nicely and very tasty. The dessert was a lovely meringue with sorbet....
Definitely worth a return trip much better than when we had dined there the last time....More
Beautiful historical building and lovely verandah to relax prior to or after the meal. The food was well presented and delicious. Service was excellent. I would liked to have seen a broader selection of wine by the glass. Currently there are only two types offered...for each the red and white. I believe they also offered a rosé.More
