Admittedly, I’m a steak snob. Not the trendy Kobe/Wagyu variety, but rather, the tried and true USDA Prime, aged. Midwestern corn-fed, type. I find the flavor much more pleasing than the vastly overrated fad from our Asian friends. That said, the quality of steaks served at J Gilbert’s rivals that of the finest steakhouses throughout the country. My family and... More

One of my favorite places for a steak. Great food. My favorite is the bone in rib eye with the au gratin potatoes and bacon cream corn. Always good tasting and good service. This place is more expensive than longhorns but cheaper than capital grille. It's worth a visit for a special dinner.

Never disappoints... steaks, seafood, sides are all excellent. Not always on the menu, but ask for the lobster risotto - outstanding.

We have been coming here for the past couple of years and wished we discovered it years ago! Steaks are so good, the best filet I have had! I don't care for lobster but yet my favorite side is the lobster mac and cheese. I loathe scallops and yet my husband orders them everytime and I find myself stealing them... More

The food at J. Gilbert's is absolutely terrific! From the oysters, to the wedge salad, to the 8 oz Filet I had -- everything was done to perfection and the ingredient quality was top of the line. The available sides are also excellent -- particularly the lobster mac & cheese and the wild mushrooms. Unfortunately, the place gets packed and... More

If you want customers to pay for a premium dining experience, why do you stuff us into crappy little booths? I thought I was in a diner. Good food, pathetic, little tables for maximum profitability. I won't be back.

When friends suggested coming here for dinner I was a bit hesitant. I am not a fan of steak and they specialize in it here. To my surprise they had a charred swordfish on the special menu. Our server informed us that there were only two swordfish specials left and he would put one aside for me if I wanted... More

This is my go to place for any special occasion. The food is always fantastic, the service exemplary and the prices very reasonable for what you get. Good bar Happy Hour Specials too! Be sure to try the Crab Bisque!
