I would like to share the fact the staff at max fish is terribly unprepared to facilitate fine dining for those who regularly "fine dine." my food was cold and overcooked, the kitchen agreed that is how they cook chicken and refrained from changing the...meal. it was not a great experience. however the food is to die for. I would not recommend eating here if it is your first time in Glastonbury. I highly recommend j Gilberts across the streetMore

We were in the area and did a quick search and read some of the reviews and decided to try the place out. Let me just say, I am so glad we had lunch here. The restaurant has two outdoor dining options as well as...a bar area and two dining room options as well. The restaurant has enough space to socially distance yourself from other diners. The ambiance is pretty good, the lighting is perfectly dimmed to create a good mood and the tables and booths are plenty large to provide enough space to fit all your meals. For starters we had a half dozen oysters which were delicious. I have a cup of the New England Chowder which had to be definitely the top 3 Chowders I have ever had. It was thick and flavorful with plenty of clams and other goodies. For our meal my girlfriend had the scallops served over a chorizo polenta and some greens. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal, it was a plentiful portion. I had the 5oz. Filet mignon served with baked potatoes and asparagus. It was cooked to the temperature of my liking and the sides were perfect. The asparagus had a nice char to it which made it so flavorful, the steak was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Our overall experience was superb. We would definitely visit again if in the area. The service was really good. The constantly checked in on us and did an excellent job. Oh I forgot to mention the creme brûlée which was a perfect way to end my girlfriend’s birthday lunchMore

During this COVID-19 period we have been very reluctant to dine outside of our home. We took a chance at Max Fish for their outdoor happy hour menu and weren’t disappointed with the food choices or safety precautions they have taken for their guests. We...enjoyed our evening so much we returned with friends a week later. We reluctantly opted for a inside table due to the threat of thunder storms. We couldn’t have felt safer at our socially distant table. As always, the food choices were great. Thanks for getting out of the house for a wonderful, safe meal.More

Food was well prepared and tasty; overall a 4. In a restaurant that was not busy, we were invisible to the staff for nearly 10 minutes. No one came by the table to greet us or offer water, drinks, menus, nothing. Prices on the high...side and, overall, not really worth it.More

Because of Covid 19 restrictions I ordered food from here which was pretty good. I know with delivery your food has a chance to cool down which bothered me. Also they did not include any eating utensils with my food and were going to substitute...my caramel cheesecake with plain cheesecake. Luckily my door dash driver alerted me to the change.More

Last week, Max Fish announced it would have 3 entrees with a choice of 2 starters and 2 desserts to go last Saturday with pick up starting at 5 pm. Advance ordering was required—we chose the chopped salad, Max Paella, and chocolate mousse cake. At...the chosen pick up time, I pulled up in my car in front of the restaurant, gave my name to the woman on the porch, pulled into a parking spot, and a short time later, shopping bags with the food were put in my car. While the food when dining in at Max Fish has been excellent, we weren’t sure how this would be. But Max is a model of consistency! The shrimp, sea scallops, clams, mussels, calamari, chorizo, and chicken were all perfectly prepared, not overcooked or dried out, and were laid over the top of the rice. The portion was very generous for 2 people. The chopped salad likewise was quite large and was provided unmixed, with the carrots, peppers, asparagus, and cheese loosely segregated in small mounds so that it was easy to select some but not all of these items in serving them along with the greens. The cake was a delightful end to a wonderful dinner. Thanks, Max Fish!More

On a recent visit to Glastonbury, we made plans to join family for dinner on our 1st night in town. They're locals, and suggested we meet at Max Fish. Although it was a Friday night, so very busy and very noisy, we thoroughly enjoyed our...meals. So much so that we returned for dinner the next night. On Friday, we were seated at the far end of a smaller dining room where it was almost uncomfortably loud. The server was brusque and seemed bothered to be waiting on us. He definitely detracted from our experience. On Saturday, our server was pleasant, friendly, and professional. She added to our experience. We were seated at a table in the bar area which we feared would be very loud but was actually quieter than on the previous night. We recommend the seafood here - all very fresh and perfectly prepared. Days later and I'm still thinking about the calamari salad. We'll be back for sure!More

We love going to Max Fish for the Seafood Tower so were very excited for our visit this weekend. We have been coming here for many years and I’m not sure what was going on last night but the service was way off. I’m not...sure if they were short wait staff but we had a lot of time in between courses, we constantly had empty water glasses (they were eventually refilled) and we had to shuffle things around on the table as empty drink glasses and dishes were not cleared regularly. Our son really wanted dessert but even he recognized we would be waiting a long time if we decided to order something. We have always had an excellent experience here so maybe it was just an off night service wise. Just hope this isn’t the new norm for themMore

I will say the staff and service was rather exceptional. Also the atmosphere and presentation of the food was done quite well. Unfortunately when it comes down to taste everything was rather on satisfying. Her dishes were all bland. Definitely disappointed I feel everything was...done very well except the most important thing which is the food obviously the reason that we had went.More
