Friends of ours who live local booked dinner for us at the Tavern. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. We were a party of 6 so we had a good range of food from the menu, fish to steak. The tavern has s great outdoor area & a very friendly atmosphere. Service was fast & efficient & the... More

From being seated to leaving, a pleasant, enjoyable meal and experience. Service staff all knowledgeable and pleasant. The Hostess very accommodating and paying attention. Our Waitress, the same and she carried on a nice conversation.

I have dinner here for special occasions. So far I've come for birthdays and Valentines Day. Each time I came, the food was absolutely delicious. This is known as the fancy restaurant in Fairfield and it definitely lives up to it. The presentation is nice and the staff was very friendly. Our waitress was nice enough to take pictures of... Attended a seminar and the food was outstanding. Usually these types of meetings the food at best is mediocre. This was not the case. Ordered salmon and it was perfectly done. Flavorful and tasty. Mashed potatoes were also excellent. Would defiantly recommend this restaurant.

Went here for dinner, the steamers and mussels were excellent appetizers, dinners were okay, the burgers were good, the scallops were excellent, the steak was very good. All in all, the service was average, the food was good, not a great value.

Luckily it was a pleasant evening and we were seated outside, cause the service took awhile. Food was very good -- great salads, primavera and organic chicken. Maybe because it was not a busy evening the wait staff seemed a bit bored but food worth the wait.

In town for a college visit with my daughter on a Sunday night. Not very busy, but a decent number of patrons for a rainy night. Waiter came to take our order and when I asked if there were specials, he spewed them off so fast, like he did not want us to order any. In the middle of our... More

We decided to see our son who is attending a local University and wanted to go out for brunch. They only have 6 items for brunch plus the normal cuisine. We started with mango Bellini which was in a small champagne glass. I started with a cup of clam chowder. It was ok but was nothing close to clam chowder.... More

This place looks like it will be charming and the decor certainly is. The bar staff lack said charm, they were far more interested in the game that was blaring than customer service

My husband and I went into old post tavern before a show at FTC for apps and drinks. Could not believe the "vibe" in this place. Very snobby hostess and patrons. We were looked at like we just dropped down from another planet!! Will not spend my $$ in this place.
