I absolutely love this place. It's definitely one of my top favorites in the Fairfield area. Everything is fresh, the quality excellent and deliciousness is to be found in each and every bite. Thinking back, I can't remember a single entree that I regretted ordering. And...the beignets are really fabulous! I love Martel and I hope it never leaves!

We recently had our first visit here. Sadly French leaning restaurants have been a dying breed here so it was great to discover this place. They have outdoor seating in the summer and the items we had from the menu were good to very good. The staff is friendly but I suspect they could use more since service was a... More

Lovely spot with really. Ice people. Hoping bar scene in Fairfield for the older set. The wine is very cheap and tends to be French leaning. The carafe size of the wine is a great deal. The Martel salad (tomatoes, cucs, and feta with EVOO) is great. All the fish is great, particularly the salmon.

We recently moved to Fairfield and checking out local food scene. Martel is now on top. Fantastic service. Amazing cuisine. Our seafood plate appetizer was awesome. My trout was to die for. Our beignet and creame brûlée were amazing. We will be back!

We popped in early (5:30-ish) for a family dinner so as to avoid the crowds which generally build up by 6:30. When empty, the dining room is quite pleasant, with what looks like pressed tin ceilings and plenty of daylight. It's still attractive when full, just noisy. Each of us went for something from the sandwich menu. I got the... More

An anniversary night out. Several people had recommended this place with superlatives. "Best place in town," they said. Not our experience. First we were greeted, so to speak, by the surly, less than gracious manager (I guess), who's idea of welcome and offering a table was a dismissive wave of the hand. We took a table outside on the patio... More

Fun atmosphere, well prepared dishes. I have been back several times. Service was execellent and the wine list was ample. Try it.

Martel is a great little bistro with an awesome menu. They have an awesome wine list. For lunch I had one of their specials which was right on, Gravlax on a croissant with a mustard sauce and a perfectly dressed salad, they also have a great raw bar menu, can't wait to go back for drinks and clams!

We've eaten here about 5 times in the last two months and the food is always superb. The atmosphere is friendly and the service has always been good. Last night, we each had the skate special which was delicious. The Burratta appetizer is always choice. Save room for the coconut cake which is to die for. Reasonably priced. Does not... More

Wonderful little French Bistro in Fairfield County. Great friendly service. Crowded little restaurant. Does NOT take reservations, so need to get there early, or wait in line. Family friendly, and casual. The pan roasted duck breast was spectacular. The duck confit was a bit dry, but tasty. Salad and haricot vert were excellent. Definitely worth trying.
