Small but adequate. The coffees choices change, and are always good. Also the fresh scones/muffins are a good choice too. For a quick coffee break this is the place.

Best coffee in downtown area. House blend is very good. Or have a latte, frappacino or other savory drink. Also has great macaroons.

Great Cappucinno , fine croissant and little Quiche. Lovely pastries , served in an environment supporting local Artists and compelling works of the Shoreline at reasonable prices.

So the folks at the Griswald Inn recommended we stop here for coffee since they were not opened for lunch yet. Great service, wonderful pastries, and excellent lattes. The coffee selection was varied and very tasty. Lots of locals stop here. Never did go for lunch to the Griswald. We weren't hungry after this visit. lol.

We made a quick stop here for coffee and treats before going to the CT River Museum. This is a busy, popular spot with friendly service. There is limited seating inside and outside, but had we known how welcoming the waterfront is in Essex, we would have taken our coffee to enjoy down there, a short walk from the cafe.

Very cute shop in a lovely town. We had great service from a very sweet barista on 12/30 and an excellent eggnog latte.

A quick stop in Essex was such a great experience. We stopped in for coffee, but came out with all sorts of wonderful things: blondies, coconut macaroons and a lovely hot caramel apple cider. There were many seasonal treats to choose from. The servers were very friendly and seemed to know most of the locals.

Love this little spot in Essex. The staff are always super nice, they have good coffee and cocoa for the kids and their pastry selection is top notch. Don't miss on the macaroons! Tables inside and ceramic mugs if you're staying, but I recommend taking a stroll to the river.
