Very unique experience. Take the ferry to the island. Have a wonderful dinner. Make reservations though. This place is always busy.

This is a Hidden gem on the Connecticut River in Essex, CT. Outstanding food from the coconut french toast topped with flambé bananas to the jerk chicken sandwich. The food is out of this world --breakfast, lunch and dinner you will never be disappointed!! Sitting amongst the mega yachts eating lunch on the water is beyond amazing. You feel like... More

We were there for breakfast last year with friends in town and made a point of stopping by again. We varied our choices: pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, traditional egg dishes, etc and all were very good except the fruit that came with some of the orders seemed to be a mix of fresh and canned. The outdoor setting is relaxed and... More

Charming outdoor setting by the water on Essex Island. From the short ferry ride to the lovely setting this is a must visit restaurant. Food was good and service was ok but I would still recommend a visit.

You get to the island on a six person shuttle that takes a minute to cross !! Eat on the porch or lawn with great Caribbean music Menu is creative and fit for foodies. Try the fresh seared ahi. Tuna melt!! Service is cordial and top quality. Dpnt miss it. Need dinner reservations.

We selected this spot based on Trip Advisor ratings. The town of Essex is beautiful. This little restaurant is in a great location with plenty of out door seating. Service was great and staff were quite friendly and efficient. Pricing was reasonable and the menu had good variety. We had lunch, but the breakfast menu also looked quite good. The... More

Half the fun of Marley's is getting there! Free little shuttle boat across the river adds to the experience. Lunch was tasty and people friendly with good service. Spot is small so they do have outdoor tables in nice weather. View of the river and boats makes you feel as if you have been transported to the islands!

Been here dozens of times and it never fails to impress. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. I always bring a bottle of wine or a few beers and relax in the sun. If you are in a hurry this os not the place to go as part of the charm is taking your time to enjoy the experience. Would... More

Fantastic atmosphere. On an island in Essex with great views of the CT river and boats going by. There is a free shuttle boat across 30 feet of water. The standard line is we took a cruise to the island and had lunch. also good for breakfast.
