If you want to try typical food from the sorroundings that is definetely the place! It is a family place and the service is amazing, so nice and friendly!
Go for the girella it is typical from the Pallars Jussà.
So good. Stopped by while passing through as the town looked interesting and it was lunch time. Food was delicious. Chef/owner was super friendly and spoke with each table individually. Really nice experience.
We stayed here one night in one of Casa Lola's apartments, as we had a wine tasting tour the following day in the area at Castell D'Encus. This place had been recommended to us by friends who had enjoyed the restaurant for their authentic Catalan...dishes. Lola runs the place and speaks English; her mother, father and sister are also working with her, making this a family affair. They are all friendly, warm and welcoming. The apartment was very clean and comfortable - we were given our choice of rooms, too! We ate all our meals in the restaurant; the food was great with plenty of options, and plentiful! We also were in need of a washer when we arrived, and Lola insisted we use the facilities washing machine. The reviews of this place are spot on - can't get any better!More
I went to this restaurant with a friend last night. We asked for some typical Catalan dishes rather than choosing directly from the menu. The hostess then asked if we liked boiled potatoes (yes) and wanted snails (no). We were brought bread, garlic and tomatoes....A home made pate, a selection of Catalan sausages and a mushroom and walnut salad. A big bowl of potato, meat, pea and red pepper stew was then dished up. It was delicious. To finish off I had the Catalan haggis which was very good. Portions of everything were generous.
It was quiet for a Friday evening with only one other table taken. Would definitely go back.More
Casa Lola...look out. We checked in at 13:00, and checked out at 14:45. Worse, we hit the bed until 17:00. What a great experience. Lola is a happy person, humming and singing as she goes about her tasks. We had good solid Catalyn food at a...very good price. I would love to describe what we ate, but it would take the mystery our of your experience. Let's just say that the Catalyns have a version of Scotish Hagus. Delicious.More
I didn't think little hotel-restaurants serving good traditional food at reasonable prices still existed. But here is one that does! We had an excellent dinner on a table outside (it was very hot) of traditional local dishes explained and served by the friendly hostess: including...what is called the Catalan equivalent of haggis (dare I say much better than the Scottish equivalent) and venison stew. I couldn't manage an ice cream. Excellent local wine. We stayed the night, and the room was very good - and fortunately with effective air conditioning. This region has been hit by the economic crisis: we were the only guests - great for us, but so sad for the hard-working owners.More
