My husband and I to the Melting Pot in Darien for our anniversary dinner. We had been before and like the experience of chatting while we cook our food as it takes longer and we have great conversation. However, our waiter (Brandon B.) did NOT...give us a card with the cook times, he did not explain the difference between the two 4 course meals were were debating between (we saw and heard other waitresses do this and realized we got the short stick of waiters). He also never refilled my soda or water even though we asked twice. At the end of the meal Brandon B. brought the check. My husband took out his credit card, looked over the bill and went to the bathroom, (I did not see how much it was.) The credit card machine you sign does not show totals, I signed the machine and met my husband near the bathroom. When we were on our way home (we live an hour and a half away) my husband asked me if I tipped the waiter and I assumed he did . When I looked at my credit card statement that night I realized Brandon B. proceeded to tip himself almost 30%!!!! We were furious when we realized this. Watch out for this 'slick' waiter! 2 stars because of the waiters poor service and generous self tipping!More

We went for dinner tonight with two kids. My wife, my son and his wife, and myself, The place was recommended by my son and his wife so I know they liked it. I liked the appetizer and salad. My dinner was good but not...great. Fun to eat though. Desert was the best part. It's a little pricey. If you're worried about spending to much this isn't the place to go. One that stands out was our waiter. He did a great job. Joked around with us and made the night fun. There was a magician going from table to table. That was a nice idea.More

Went once and didn’t have a good experience. Though not a fan of style. Unfortunately I can not recommend it

My fiancé and I were celebrating our second to last anniversary as an unmarried couple. We decided to give The Melting Pot a first try. Neither of us had ever done anything like it. The short version is, we both got a lot more than...we expected in a very positive way. The longer version is for the foodies. First of all, Shirley our server was amazing. She was very patient and we had a lot of questions. She provided recommendations and made welcomed small talk. We really felt comfortable with her. We mentioned it was our anniversary in passing and she made sure to make it memorable. We splurged with the four course meal. It all started with a delicious cheese dip with an assortment of apples, breads, and vegetables to dip. The cheese was so cheesy and delicious. Next, we were given our salads - a Caesar salad and a house special. Both were fresh and tasty! At this point we weren’t stuffed yet. That would change quickly. The third course was all our meats. You have about 4-5 ways you can choose to cook your meats. We chose a caldron. Everything was seasoned perfectly. It was such a great experience to cook your own meats (sirloin, pork, chicken, shrimp, salmon). It gives you time to hold conversations, trade food, and really enjoy the moment. By the time we finished this third course we were nearing the tipping point. The best part was coming! The last course was the dessert. An assortment of fruits and sweets (cookies, brownies, waffles) to dip in the dark chocolate we chose. Everything was delicious and fresh, and the chocolate was rich! Shirley was amazing and brought out a special slice of cake with the words “Happy Anniversary” written on the plate. It was so thoughtful of her. We highly recommend The Melting Pot for your special occasion or just for an amazing experience in general. We loved it and we hope to be back soon.More

This was a fun event for us with fondue and the magician on saturday nights. I agree the menu is a little complicated and they steer you to a expensive four course option. We were there for the namesake but go pulled into order the...grilled items as well. This was ok but next time i will just select a couple of the fondue pots and ignore their recommendations. Staff was friendly and my son was in awe of the magician so it was tasty and magival.More

I liked that the menu seemed more flexible now. The Melting Pot has added a grilling option which we used. I think I would do something else next time. The chocolate fondue is yummy!!!! It is something different to exxperience.

Christmas eve family fun with adult children. Everyone enjoyed the delicious cheese fondue. The menu was a little tricky and pricey but it was well worth it!!

Best Fondue in Connecticut. My server Brandon is the best server I’ve ever had. He should father my children.

If you are a virgin to eating fondue style then this is a great controlled environment to do it in. Waitress was very informative and detailed on the menu and steps as it can be confusing for a first timer. Price tag for a couple...is approximately $100 for four course meals. We went with the make your own. I would also suggest that you only do one of the cheese platters as it is filling for two people. Once we got the main course it was dip, wait and eat. Plenty of dipping sauces to try with veggies and meat/seafood. Try to make reservations as this place gets crazy busy. We got in at a time when there was virtually no one there, but when it came down to dessert it was hard to wave someone down for service.More
