Made reservations for two for a birthday on a Saturday evening . When we arrived we were placed in the bar and when I told them I was unhappy they could care less . Very noisy and the table was as big as a postage...stamp ! We were very disappointed and won’t be going back .More
I have reviewed Joseph's before. We dine there approximately 4-5 times per year and have always found the meal to be fabulous. We have been to Luger's, Keene's, Benjamin's and Joseph's is just as good, if not better. Except, unfortunately for dessert. I mentioned in...the past that the cheesecake was dry and they needed to find another supplier. Well, they did, however, I have never seen such a small piece of cheese cake - I even wonder how they were able to slice it so tiny. Basically, if you are going to give large steaks - your desserts should follow and compliment the meal. So go for the steaks and as of now, skip on the dessert. Unless, of course the owner reads my review and increases the size....More
It is the best steak-house in the region, without a lot of doubt. The quality is there, they have the chefs to cook it right, and the servers are extremely nice. The owner/managers who have succeeded the original Joseph are also very nice, they impart...hospitality and make the place kind of fun too. Overall, excellent. The Hofbrau beer on tap is excellent. Try the filet mignon with mushrooms, the filet is excellent and so are the mushrooms. It's a nice place. Highly recommended.More
I came here for a family member's birthday and we had our own room in the restaurant, so the service was outstanding - we had several waiters coming and going, and they were all attentive and helpful. We ordered several of each food dish and...had them served family style at the table, which was great. The chicken was good and the salmon was pretty standard. The porterhouse was delicious, but the regular, well-done steak tasted a bit burned on top. Their mashed potatoes were really good! There's good parking for this restaurant.More
I came here with a few friends to catch up. Most of us ordered the filet, I got the surf and turf. I was disappointed with the quality of the steak for the price. I was also disappointed that I got the cheaper Asian lobster...with my surf/turf which was overcooked.
The service seemed disorganized and we had to ask a few times to two different staff for our coffees.
I wanted to order a wine, one that I was particularly familiar with, and a glass was $11, when the bottle that I buy is $13. They also boast a $30 corking fee if you bring your own. This seems "par for the course" at Joseph's.
Parking was great, right next door, but I won't come back.More
overpriced new york style steakhouse. service was ok parking good , the thickd bacon app was good steaks cooked perfect .easy to get to off .rt 95 ex 25 turn right st to third traffic light right on corner..resturant closed 3 to 5 pm
I’ve been a regular customer of this establishment for a long time because this steakhouse is the real deal. You won’t find a better option in Connecticut. The dry aged prime steaks are always cooked perfectly and the old school waiter service can’t be beat....They have the traditional steakhouse sides and you must try the bacon appetizer. The restaurant has a great ambience as well. Good wine selection too. This place is in no way cheap, but it’s worth every penny if you want to treat yourself, the family, or someone special.More
This is a New York style steakhouse with menu and style patterned after places like Luger's in Brooklyn. Some staff came to Bridgeport from Luger's, so it's no surprise.
The food is consistently excellent. The decor is completely traditional and can be safely ignored. Service...is inconsistent. We have had meals where we thought the waiter was reading our minds, and was there quickly but not pushy. And then we have had lunches where I had to get up, go to the bar, and ask them to call the waiter to serve us. But for a great steak and all the trimmings, you can avoid a trip to the city, and just go here.More
