Cute little pizza/Italian style items on the corner with limited outdoor seating. Limited selection of wine. Rolls served were the soft style ones found in school cafeteria’s. Ordered a pepperoni pizza to start. Thick and chewy with one slice of pepperoni on each slice. Actually...it was comical. Had the house Genaro salad which was mediocre and overpriced at $11. Eggplant rollitini was inedible unless you are a cheese lover.More

Stopped in while driving the shoreline on Saturday with friends. Was pleasantly surprised. Even though the restaurant is small, the service and food was delicious. They have an extensive menu. We had appetizers and meals which all were delicious. Owner greeted us and explained the...renovations that were taking place. Mussels were delicious as was the eggplant parm and antipasto was very large! Highly recommend. My friend is a vegetarian. He loved the soupMore

The two of us shared a small pizza and it was more than enough for both of us! I loved the thin crust and a delicious veggies on top, we shared the veggie pizza. The restaurant had a great, laid-back vibe, yet was very nice....We also shared a great large salad with salmon. Everything was delicious!More

I was there twice for dinner. Once for pizza (which was delicious) and the second time for a pasta dish (delicious again). The pizza was a specialty which was white with garlic, arugula and prosciutto. The crust was thin and crispy. Also, while we were...there another couple was eating next to us and said we had to try their dinners. They looked very appetizing. The next time we had dinner. I had pasta with shrimp in a while sauce and my friend had shrimp parm. I tasted the red sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh. You can bring your own wine which is fine with me. This restaurant needs to catch on. I would highly recommend it.More

We pass by Genaro's a few times a week but have never stopped. Why? If we're going for pizza, we go Modern in NH! Last night, we ordered a pizza for delivery for a few friends who dropped by. One of them lives right by...Genaro's but has never been. We ordered the pizza for delivery and asked not to have a burnt crust. It was perfect. Everyone agreed that Genaro's makes one of the best pizza's in the New Haven area. We will definitely return!More

Stopped by here the other night and ordered large cheese pizza (18 inch) for $11.50 and a Genaro's Salad with craisin, goat cheese, walnuts... ($6.50) - both were delicious. Have used reviews from Yelp, trip advisor and Google in the past to find recommended places...to eat and honestly, many times, I have been disappointed. Genaro's only has a couple of reviews and all positive so, this time, I concur! Will be coming back which is not something I usually write.More

Very nice friendly staff serving good food :-) I really enjoyed the food and the service at this place. It's right around the corner from Yale hospital in New Haven. Parking is metered parking on the street.

Wonderful neighborhood pizza place. Spotless. Fast. Friendly. We have had pizza, subs, salad and full dinners. Haven't been disappointed yet! Prices are very good with subs starting at 5.50!

My wife and & have eaten here three times. It's not fancy, but the food is good, the service fast and friendly and the prices extremely reasonable. Dinner for two last night was about $20! Twelve inch pizzas start at $6.50. The pizzas don't have...the super crisp crusts of Marco's or Modern, but neither are the doughy. (They are also not burnt like Sally's or Pepe's). My Hawai'ian pizza was loaded with cheese, ham, with bacon, and pineapple as well. It was really good. We have also have a white clam and bacon pizza, baked eggplant, soups and pasta, all great. While it bills itself as a pizza place, the menu is actually pretty extensive, with pasta, steak, seafood, sandwiches, etc. Branford is bless with lots of great restaurants, so Genaro's really only stands out in location and price. If you are at the Yale Sailing Center or otherwise near Short Beach, check it out, or just call for take-out.More
