This is a quaint, fun place. The dinners are typical German fare and it is very good. It is cute inside and the service was very goo. The spazel and the schnitzel are excellent.

You will love this place. Great German food. Nice ambiance. Schnitzel and spätzle to die for. Nice buffet also on some nights.

Had the buffet, it was very good. Atmosphere was nice and low-key. The beer selection was good as well.

I would like to review the food here, but we never even got to sit down! My husband and I had heard good things about this place, so last Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm my husband called to make a reservation, but was told that they did not take reservations for fewer than 6 or 8 people. He then asked if... More

I enjoyed the German cuisine for a change but seating was VERY tight. Food was excellent, but small portions for the prices. My wife and I will not be back.

We lived in Germany for four years so I wanted to see how authentic this restaurant is. I was disappointed that there wasn't any spundekäse (cheese spread). Pretzel was good. And they had apfelschorle (bubbly apple juice). And I had the schweinshaxe (pork knuckle); it is a big meal so be prepared to take home a doggy bag. Spätzle was... More

It had been a while since our last visit which was just OK so we thought we would try it again. The staff is very professional yet friendly. Sadly the meal did not match the enthusiasm of the staff. This restaurant has changed hands a few times over the years but the current owner has been here for a while.... More

My husband love german food. We went Old Heidelberg for lunch. A little charm place. The food was ok for me,so so, not forgetful. But it was very pricy, A glass of beer cost $10 was too much. Lunch for 4, cost us $200 and more. I don’t want to eat second time for this food.

This was our first time at Old Heidelberg. My husband loves German food and beer. He was happy with his two beer selections and the sausage variety plate. I ordered a special, which was roasted duck, and it was dry and flavorless. I usually enjoy duck. Maybe that was not the thing to get at a German place. The sides... More

All I can say is from the time we walked in, till the time we left, everything was as good as you can possibly expect, a restaurant experience to be. The owner, Alex and his staff are first rate. We found a new spot, and we'll be going there at least twice a month.
