A hidden gem in the area. You can eat inside or on the covered patio deck. Great service. The smoked salmon sandwich was delicious. I appreciated the side dish for the sandwiches is sliced fresh fruit, apples, oranges, blackberry and strawberries.

We live in Colorado Springs, about an hour away. To get out of the house and enjoy a road trip and lunch, we went up to Woodland Park and tried the Swiss Chalet restaurant. It had good reviews, and restaurants in this area are slim...pickings. So we gave it a try. They open at 11 AM, and that’s when we arrived. There was just one waitress, and she was totally overwhelmed and frantic, bemoaning her plight to every table in the restaurant. She set an unpleasant tone of disorganization and pandemonium. Over the next hour the place was nearly full, so the tension rose higher and higher. Even though we ordered only soup, sandwich, and salad, and our order was the first one into the kitchen, it still took 30 minutes for it to come out. And, when it finally came out, it was taken to the wrong table. Also, I was really looking forward to having the Swiss onion soup, which is their specialty. However she informed us and all the other guests that the kitchen was still preparing the soup, so it was not available. Poor performance! Since most other reviews are favorable, perhaps this place is hit or miss. It was certainly a miss for us!More
Very quaint atmosphere and great attention to detail. You can see that they take pride in their food. Great quality and reasonably priced. Reservations for dinner are a must. This place offers a unique experience. I highly recommend it! Absolutely worth the short and scenic...trip from Colorado Springs.More
We were very pleased- atmosphere, our meal, and the service were excellent! We shared the rack of lamb, which was cooked as ordered and served on separate plates. We will return when in the area.
Tremendous atmosphere and excellent menu contributed to a fun evening! Heidi was excellent and friendly Server and she described the dishes on the menu in wonderful detail. The Chicken Piccata and Jeager Schnitzle were excellent coupled with delicious spaetzle and red cabbage.....definitely some of the...great menu options.More
Swiss Chalet was a perfect spot. Service was spot on and friendly. Highly recommend this establishment.
When you are with friends/ family and visiting an area, such as Colorado Springs, and you ask for a recommendation for a special evening; we were given the Swiss Chalet Restaurant. And it did not disappoint! Yes, they are very serious about reservations, and make...that clear in their website and front door. But we called and secured an early reservation. Quaint, romantic, personal, wonderful, enjoyable, are some of our descriptions of this restaurant. And yes, we’ve traveled most of Europe. Service: friendly, professional. Dining: of course you have to start with the cheese fondue, ask for some apples, perfect! Rack of Lamb, schnitzel, salmon; delicious, well seasoned, hearty servings. Delicious! Great wine list at reasonable prices. We had a great dining experience; not rushed, cosy , delicious, fun, ( oh and a window location to view Pikes Peak) Now what more could you ask for? We found it all at Swiss Chalet!More
Restaurant seemed half empty but we were turned away. No reservation no entry. They seem serious about this.
This restaurant has a great atmosphere with a delightful authentic Swiss ambience (we have visited Switzerland many times). The food was superb. We had the schnitzel. It and the service were excellent!! Highly recommend.
I'll make this easy, the restaurant is not fine dining...I've had plenty of fine dining and they miss the mark. 1. Cocktails: I make better at home 2. Service: Never have I waited so long at every stage of a meal! 3. Food: Under seasoned,...lumpy mashed potatoes (no one was eating them) 4. Decor: Plastic plants divide the room! They can do better...plastic plants???? 5. Expense: Pricey for what you get. 6. Menus on a chalkboard?? Not that quaint. Really, as a "purported" fine dining restaurant, the owners should actually visit a real restaurant in that category. If all the other reviewers were satisfied with this level of service and quality, then maybe they were lucky (or me not so much). I'll just keep on looking.More
Perfect day to sit outside and have a great lunch. Mushroom Swiss burger with the toasted bun was very good as were the potatoes that came with it. Wife had the 1/2 sandwich and soup, came with fruit, she gave it a thumbs up too....Very nice place, can see where it is a nice romantic place in the evening. Thy can make chicken strips or grilled cheese for kids.More
This was the most complete meal I have had in some time. Starting out with the delicious bread, followed up by a perfectly done house salad topped with a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered the filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection and tender throughout....It was covered in cracked pepper and a mango chutney glaze that gave it an unbelievable blend between spice and sweetness that was the perfect combination on an already excellent steak. On the side were fresh, crisp buttery green beens, and scalloped potatoes garnished with fresh chives. Finished this delicious meal with an on point creme brûlée with a masters touch of crusted caramelized sugar sure to put tour tastebuds in overdrive. To say I was impressed was an understatement and I can not wait till I am back in the area to visit this gem.More
I usually set my expectations high and get disappointed but this honestly was the best meal of my life. The chillean sea bass was to die for!!!! I can't say enough good things about it! Great service, great drinks and worth the price! Will most...definitely be back!More
We don't eat much German Cuisine but I went in for the Cobb salad & all the good I had heard about it. Certainly was everything I had heard about & also some of the German food looked very good. We will return for some...of the special menu items that they offer. It was a delicious Cobb salad that is a great meal all by itself!More
Beautiful place, loved the atmosphere immensely. Not worth the money! Slow rude service. The food was bland and salty, weird flavors, not Bavarian or Swiss at all. We spent 8 years in Europe, this was not it. Fondue was very plain with stale bread, soup...was cold, chicken was salty and dry, spaetzie tasted like mashed fried soggy noodles.More
