The Rancher's Roost is professionally run and maintained. That quality is hard to find in a community of less than 1000 residents. It's no surprise that they can afford to stay open through the winter when so many others have to close for the season. I'll be visiting tomorrow morning to get the yummy breakfast. The place also goes out... More

Small town diner in a bowling alley; good food, but not fine dining. Beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains through the dining room windows, but we ate in the diner portion of the restaurant. Try the Mexican "Slopper", an open-faced, 7-ounce hamburger, slathered with green chile, and topped with lettuce, tomatos, onions, black olives and cheese, with sides of sour... More

We traveled through, and decided to try out the food. The meals were pretty good, but the service could use some improvement. We had a nice view.

My daughter and I made the hour trip from Canon City, because I had eaten here last year when looking for a summer place in Colorado, and loved the food and atmosphere. We both ordered the smothered burritos. We chose a booth with the mountain view. The food and view were awesome. Portion sz. was soooo big, we both had... More

We always plan a stop at the Rancher's Roost Cafe during the High Mountain Hay Fever Festival in Westcliffe. It's quiet with good cooking... this time we ordered soup and salad. The summer special is a Strawberry-Spinach salad. Delicious. Hubby had the soup: chili this time. Wonderful!

My family goes to this restaurant on a weekly basis and the food is always great. Whether it is french onion soup or a burger, the food quality and constancy always earn high marks. Service can be slow at times, but the wait is worth the quality of food.
