We always plan a stop at the Rancher's Roost Cafe during the High Mountain Hay Fever Festival in Westcliffe. It's quiet with good cooking... this time we ordered soup and salad. The summer special is a Strawberry-Spinach salad. Delicious. Hubby had the soup: chili this time. Wonderful!

My family goes to this restaurant on a weekly basis and the food is always great. Whether it is french onion soup or a burger, the food quality and constancy always earn high marks. Service can be slow at times, but the wait is worth the quality of food.

Prices are reasonable, food is good. Service is usually really good. It is my first choice. Summer can be busy, but at those times every place in town is busy.

If a reviewer tells you to go eat at a bowling alley you start to throw things as him or her. The Ranchers Roost is the exception to the rule. Friendly staff, wide ranging menu and a view that defies description, you have to see it. Tip: get a booth by the big windows.

We have visited Westcliffe 4 times in the past 2 years. We discovered this fun little breakfast spot inside the bowling alley, quite by accident on our first visit. We were so impressed by the pancakes, we have intentionally scheduled our travel through Westcliffe solely for the purpose of eating breakfast here. The view out the large window is absolutely... We stopped here for a late lunch. Pick a booth, they have a nice view of the mountains. Service was very good, we were seated and served quickly. Waters refilled. Menu was typical American burger food. I had the special, a brisket sandwich, while my wife had a burger. The food was very good, my brisket was tasty and not... More

Ranchers Roost is definitely nothing special but by no means avoid the place. The bowling alley is attached in the same building if you want to do that.

Ate breakfast twice at the Rancher's Roost. Both breakfasts were very good, and well-cooked. The potatoes that come with their breakfasts were cooked perfectly -- not hard as bricks as happens in many restaurants that purport to specialize in breakfasts. The wait staff were friendly and attentive -- some of the best I've experienced anywhere. The stellar part of the... More

We actually didn't eat here. We went to see the huge wall photo mural of the mountains by Michael Arterburn and left after 5 minutes without ever seeing a waitress. It is in the bowling alley which more of a nice rec center. There is one seating area closer to the alleys in more of a bowling alley grill motif.... More
