I was staying nearby and walked down to the Polgooth Inn one evening.Very friendly staff and dogs! Food was lovely - I had a gorgeous fish pie. Just wished I'd gone more times. Was a bit nervous being a lone woman, but needn't have worried.

The welcome is very friendly. The menu is varied and there is also a special daily menu. The food is nicely presented and most of the vegetables are grown in their own garden . The beer is the local St Austell breweries and very tasty

Dropped by on a Monday evening, busy place with a nice atmosphere. Main courses were excellent, desserts not so good, hence only 4 stars. Staff were attentive and pleasant an asset to the pub.
