All reviews schnitzel black forest cake pretzels kaiserschmarrn veal pea soup apple strudel bread fondue great german favorite meal german food food quality cooked to perfection amazing food main course dining experience
With social distancing, we were able to eat in the back area outside which afforded us a wonderful view and privacy. Fondue was delicious and the dessert , kaiserschmarrn was mouthwateringly tasty. I'm still dreaming of it days later.
Stopped in for breakfast since all other places had a long wait. Should have been my first sign. Husband and I ordered eggs and bacon. It was literally scrambled eggs with absolutely zero flavor (my 7 year old makes better eggs)thin strips of greasy back...and some bread with butter. This is for $20 per plate, it was so disappointing.More
The location of Alpenrose restaurant is great. The atmosphere is very cozy, but the food is quite a different story. I ordered Veal goulash and I couldn’t eat it. The food has no flavor, and I am very sure the mushrooms were canned. I expected...a better quality food in Vail. Next I know where not to eat.More
We chose this restaurant because we are both of German heritage and visit family in Germany every other year. So, we had high hopes after reading the great reviews. Don't rely on the menu on their website, Yelp or Open Table. We came here specifically...for schnitzel and their Brotzeitbrett and neither were on their menu when we arrived. Their on line menu is significantly different than what was available. Instead of leaving, which I wish we had, we ordered the caprese salad and the brats with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The food was mediocre and the prices were significantly higher (25%) than the prices shown on the website menus. Not only would I never return, I would not recommend. I also don’t understand why their reviews are so high.More
Step into the Alpenrose and you will feel like you have been beamed to Bavaria or Austria (without the long flight, perfect for these unprecedented times). Excellent, attentive service (pretty much everybody also speaks German), great upper deck and elaborate decorations make for a warm...and charming atmosphere. Everything served was tasty, however (hence the 4 stars) nearly impossible to find a dish for Vegans; pretty much everything has cheese, eggs, meat in it.More
We sat outside and had such a good meal. Love the Wiener schnitzel and spaetzle. Salad has huge and soup was delicious too. The brats were very good too. The desserts were scrumptious. Best oatmeal raisin cookies and chocolate chips too. Would eat here again...anytime.More
We were able to get a table without a reservation. The restaurant was really trying to maximize their patio space while still being safe. The wait staff was excellent, attentive and super quick. The food was delicious and the portions were generous we had the...veal mushroom goulash. It was delicious and rich. Their pretzel bratwurst combo. The schnitzel ( we forgot to take a picture).More
We had a group dinner at Alpenrose. The staff were great and the food was mixed. The dishes were simple, the veal with mushrooms was a big hit as were the pretzels. Presentation was great. Overall a really great experience but if you're looking for...something a little more upscale you will be disappointed.More
