I want to give this restaurant 5 stars even though the food could have been more tasty. This restaurant was one of the cutest restaurants I’ve been to. The location was ideal, staff was nice, and it looked beautiful from the outside since it was...decorated for Christmas. Such a cozy environment!! When I, hopefully, go back to Vail this will be a spot I go to again. Bathrooms were a pain to get to since they were downstairs but that doesn’t take away from my 5 star review.More

We needed some food and decided to stop here for a bit. Most of the food was bland and mediocre at best. The amount of schnitzel you get for $28 is criminal and the spatzel was bland. I would rather have some other side options....This is their lunch price too, which is pretty insane. Decided to order a pretzel for $14 with beer cheese (a $4 charge). The pretzel was alright, no better than anything you’ll get a movie theater or pretzel stand. Very little flavor. It’s a good thing I ordered the beer cheese because the mustard wasn’t very good. Over $60 on lunch for one person. Our entire party spent $100 on lunch for a couple pieces of pork… Hot apple cider was nice. Nothing too special. Service was attentive. The restaurant itself is cozy and a nice cabin vibe. Fits the area. This place is definitely a tourist trap and I would not visit again.More

We enjoyed the ambiance and service here. I would suggest a reservation during peak times. The food was good. We really enjoyed the pretzel and the spicy horseradish mustard. The pork schnitzel was good, but overpriced in general, but not sure if overpriced in Vail....The waiter was attentive and provided excellent service, which can be hard to find today. We would return.More

We cannot believe the ratings that this place is getting. We ordered the brauts with sauerkraut, a large pretzel, some drinks, and none of it was good. The place has got the looks and the location but the food is not good. The restaurant next...door (Barrio Social) has much better food, drinks and desserts.More

We had a wonderful meal, absolutely delicious!! Had the Caprese Salad, Schnitzel, Quinoa Rosti with Smoked Salmon, and Schweinebraten. Everything was excellent. And the staff was very attentive and kind! We loved our evening here!

I've spent plenty of time in Germany/Austria/Switzerland, and found the Alpenrose food to be authentic and delicious. Even the presentation of the food and decor reminded me of small, traditional restaurants I've visited. This is traditional food, so expect it to be filling and nothing...especially creative, but do expect it to be prepared well. they do serve fondue as an appetizer, but don't think this is a fondue stop. The schnapps menu and nice pastries rounded out a fun evening.More

We love German food and this is the best we have had outside of Europe. Charming decor, friendly service, wonderful in every way! So good we may eat another meal there before we go home! It’s pricey but everything is pricey in Vail.

Fabulous restaurant. Food delicious. Service and atmosphere outstanding. We loved they even had a bakery. The menu while not extensive had enough choices. It was nice to experience food that you normally would not be eating. Just go & enjoy the entire experience.

The wait staff was great and the decor is charming but the food poisoning was miserable. My daughter and I shared a pork schnitzel and got pretty sick later in the evening.

Service was great, food was plenty. We had the reservation for Gondola Dinner for 2. Pablo, our server for the night, was very attentive. The ambiance inside the Gondola is very romantic. I love it. My partner love it. We will definitely be back to...try other things on the menu. Oh and they do have authentic German desserts. My fave was the Black Forest Cake. Yum!More

Go for the experience of the interior decor and costumed wait staff, not an A+ dining experience. The food is fine for Bavarian fare but nothing special. There are some good warm cocktails on the menu including feuerzangenbowle and heisse oma. The service was good...and the food was served quickly.More

So I did my research and I was not disappointed. My Girlfriend and I had planned a romantic day away from Denver on our trip there for a vacation! I made reservations for 12:30pm on a Friday (the weekend before the winter season) and it...was busy but we were seated within minutes. We were greeted to a beautiful Austrian Alps aesthetic and appeal. I do believe the staff may have all been from the area depicted as they all had accents, which did help with the vibe. Lederhosen and dresses were worn by the staff as well. there was dining outside with minimal cover as it was raining so we were seated at a table for two. Very quaint and romantic as a lunch could be. We ordered a flight of Schnapps ($38) and it came prepared on a mini snow ski, adorned with garnishes in wee hiking/mountain-climbing boot shot glasses. I ordered a Pilsner in a tankard (1 pint) for about $12. As an appetizer we got a Big Bavarian style pretzel that hung on a deer antler attached to a charcuterie board. It came with mustard and cheese fondue. That is highly recommendable! My girlfriend ordered the schnitzel and I got he bratwurst and sour kraut. I have to say, it was probably the best I have ever had in my life!!! We followed with a plum crumb cake that just melted in your mouth. Overall, We spent $171 (including tip) and I am not the richest guy in the world but I felt it was so worth it!!! For the atmosphere, food, and the service, I will so be returning!More

I had a short, but lovely stop at Alpenrose last month. While strolling around, I popped in for a quick lunch on my own. The patio was the draw, as it's adorable, and provides a perfect perch for people watching. I had a simple order,...but it exceeded expectations. I had a glass of Prosecco, and the caprese salad. Perfectly delicious, and the presentation was a 10 out of 10. It was a bonus that the patio is very dog friendly, and I was flanked by super cute doggies.More

We made reservations for a Satuday when they opened but stumbled on a Friday night here and wanted to grab a drink, they ARE Very strict with reservations even though the restaurants was only at 50% capacity on a Friday evening. We said we woul...like to come have a drink and snack this was around 6:10 pm, we were told a party is coming at 6:30 so we need to be FAST... a little rude but okay. We had a drink, $15-18 for a small drink- they were great though. The food, very MEH. Pretzel and cheese will run you close to 20 bucks.. Pretzel was cold.. Cheese average. My husbands cheese soup was okay, probably better than any of the other apps. I cancelled my Saturday reservation and I didnt see the need to return. Mgmt should probably train hosts to be a little nicer and friendlier, you never know who will be coming through those doors.More
