We waited way to long to have anyone wait on us. Then they took their time. The food was so-so. No one ever checked back or offered to refill our drinks. When we were finished we waited 20 minutes then had to find the bartender...to ask if we could get our check. A disappointment.More

Got caught in a rain storm coming back from the Village and made a great decision to duck into The George. It happened to be a night with the crab legs special which were giant king crab legs and cooked to perfection. Came with a...couple of sides and was very filling. My husband had the Cesar salad with a huge portion of salmon, also excellent. The server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our only complaint was there was a lack of wine glasses, only small water glasses that didn't bring out the proper flavor of the wine. Good wine and beer selections & good value.More

Best place in Vail. You’ll want to go back here multiple times. First impression is hip apres ski dive bar with real skiers. Love the TVs showing vintage skiing. What you don’t expect is the staff to be so friendly and personable. On top of...that, the cheap cocktails are actually decent. And then there is the food. We took the servers word that the surf and turf was as good as advertised. It did not disappoint!More

Surf and Turf in Vail for $26? Yes and it's very good. So is the Fish and Chips and the Sirloin Steak. Reasonably priced, especially for Vail. $5 well drinks, very good service and very good atmosphere. A little hidden, have to walk down some...stairs then walk thru a hallway and it's tucked in the back. Kind of feels like a speakeasy. Definitely a local hangout.More

We were very hungry when we stopped in for dinner. The service was slow and depending on the song the music can be a bit too loud.

My new husband and I went for Thanksgiving- we tried some fun new drinks, split a duck quesadilla (awesome) and a surf and turf. So fun and totally worth a honeymoon stop off!!

My family of 5 recently had dinner at the George during our recent visit to Vail. This establishment is in the basement of a hotel, and is dark, strangely decorated, and questionably clean. It has typical pub-type food, but all items were prepared well. The...fish and chips with peas was a very good choice as well as all the sandwiches that we ordered. Service was slow but okay, and the price of the menu items are normal compared to other places in the country and not ridiculously elevated like the other eating establishments in Vail. I would recommend the George for a relatively fast and reasonably priced meal.More

We were in Vail for just one night in May and not a lot of places were open since it’s off season. Referring to TA as I always do we found out about The George and boy were we glad we did. It’s located in...the basement of a hotel building and not too big. We came in the back way as we got a little turned around due to some construction that was going on so we didn’t see the sign at the main entrance that showed the happy hour specials but as soon as we were seated our server told us about them. They have a Surf and Turf special for $25 that is amazing. King crab legs and filet mignon! Drinks were $4.75. The dinner was outstanding. We asked our server if this is just an off season special and he said no it’s a year round happy hour special. Highly recommend The George next time you are in Vail.More

This bar is kind of hidden. You have to walk down stairs and then down a long hallway to a set of heavy wooden double doors. When you walk in, it smells like a locker room with too many beers spilled on the ground. There...are pools tables in the room to the right. The bar is directly in front as you walk in. The dining area is to your left. There are booths along the walls and some neat couch-style seating areas in the middle. The menu offers affordable eats and a decent drink list. My friends had the burger and fries. I had the fish tacos. They came with tortillas, salsa, guac, and this orange mayo sauce. My tacos were ok and I think I got sick off them later that week. Service was good.More

I don't think that they take reservations, but I've never had a long wait there.
