The George is pretty great! We had 9 people, walked right in on a busy night, had surf and turf, delicious apps, great drink selection and the kids even enjoyed themselves. Our waiter was excellent. We will be returning to the George.

Get the Alaskan king crab or the surf and turf. It's more than you can eat and during summer only $23. Yup...$23 during happy hours. Its very casual but fun. Keep the kids away after 9pm though.

Good, cheap eats are a rarity in Vail so thankfully there's the George restaurant. Conveniently located with good service and fabulous happy hours, it fills the bill when you need to let your hair down and shed any pretentiousness you may have acquired while enjoying Vail, one of the real gems of the Rockies.

Everyone will tell you how the locals love this joint -- they probably get local discounts -- the food, the atmosphere and the service is lousy -- one of those joints that you wonder how they stay open -- but they have a dedicated following -- don't believe the oft repeated nonsense that this is actually a place you might... Not really expecting the 70's psycho decor with an almost sports bar feel... this was neverless a good stop for a group wanting everything from fresh salads to burgers & steaks to fish & chips. Wide selection of beers and wine. Seating is low and almost reminiscent of a Japanese steak house(?)

Happy hour that went until 10pm! Surf and Turf for $23. Sirloin Steak was cooked medium rare as requested. Crab Legs were also very good. All drinks $4.75. Seemed to be a very comfortable place to bring a large group although it was just myself and my wife when we went. Server was very personable and attentive.

Very casual pub atmosphere. Come for dinner and stay for drinks. Food is okay, nothing special. A very typical ski-town pub.

My daughter and I were in town for a volleyball tournament. We found George while walking around Vail after a day of volleyball. The duck quesadilla was absolutely phenomenal. Our entrees were equally delicious (filet and hamburger)! The staff was incredible and the music was awesome!

The claim to fame at George is that the locals love it Than the locals have lousy taste -- never had anything that was particularly good and often the food is tasteless -- the scene is kind of drab as well
