Sweet Basil became my favorite restaurant when I discovered it while vacationing in the area around 10 years ago. Each subsequent visit has been superb and it remains my favorite restaurant in Vail and even my favorite restaurant ever. If we had a child, I would probably name him Sweet Basil. It's THAT good. My husband and I often order... More

Such a wonderful experience! The server was amazing, the wine selection incredible, and the appetizers and food ridiculously wonderful. Sitting outside on the balcony was an enjoyable way to end a beautiful Vail day.

We had a reservation at 8:00pm but were late checking in our hotel. We called the restaurant to let them know and they were gracious enough to hold that table for us for about 25 minutes, considering that they were not short of patrons during Oktoberfest. We were shown to our table by gentle staff. The restaurant was full but... More

Table for three for a business lunch. Vail village is quaint and helps set the expectation for an upscale meal. The heirloom tomato salad was by far the winner of the day. Portions are smaller as expected with this high level of creativity and execution. Lunch in the offseason left the place quiet for a nice conversation. Might get a... More

Absolutely delicious food which was well presented. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the food and the ingredients and had a good sense of humour, we chose some of his recommendations and were not disappointed.

Sweet Basil has been one of the best restaurants in the Vail Valley for as long as I can remember... so that's at least 30 years. The menu, ambiance, staff, and history all help create a uniquely Vail experience. The ownership are tried and true locals with a refined attention to detail, and quality. Love this place.

We have been visiting Vail for about 5 years now during the month of September. There is a lot going on the village during the first week; i.e. Octoberfest and weekend farmer's markets along with the attractions on top of the ski slope. We always go to Sweet Basil for dinner and we ordered Ribe Eye for two. Incredible smokey... More

Sweet Basil never disappoints. Excellent food, good staff, great ambiance - all you can ask for in a restaurant. We live in the area and Sweet Basil is in our top 3 list of restaurants in Vail and top 5 in the whole valley, for sure. They have a great lunch option, as well, which works out quite nicely after... Our concierge at Ritz Carlton suggested this restaurant as a "must" while staying in Vail. We found the service slow - before dinner cocktails took a long time to arrive then first course arrived before we finished enjoying our drinks. Our waiter Michael seemed condescending - addressed all the women at our table as "dear". Corn chowder was tepid and... More
