My wife and I were in route from Denver to Grand Junction, CO, driving along I-70. The first 100 miles west of Denver are rather strenuous driving as the road rises and falls and twists and turns. By the time we reached Vail, we decided...to take a break. Vail is an interesting town, a mixture of resort, fantasyland, and functional city. After we departed the enclosed parking garage, we emerged in a foyer with an elevator to different levels of Vail on one side and La Cantina on the other. We had wanted to try Mexican food in places west of where we live (in Texas). For once my wife and I ordered the same thing ... cheese enchiladas. After her second bite, my wife whispered that she could make better. Well .... she can, but these enchiladas were average at best. They were toasted on the bottom and cool in the center. This says that they were frozen and microwaved. Likewise we were told that the plates might be hot when we got them. This suggests that the food was delivered from the freezer to the plate and then microwaved. That cooks the plate as well and makes it hot. I could do as well with a TV dinner.More
