We have been to Vail so many times and never knew this place existed. You would never find it or walk upon it unless you used the transportation center. A waiter in another restaurant told us about it and said they have the best chili...rellenos. It is nothing fancy but where all the locals eat. We tried it and really enjoyed the food. It's not my type of place as far as atmosphere but the food was good.More

This is located just next to the welcome center, in the building and no sign from outside. Although this is a take out mainly restaurant, there are few tables there. There is a small bar and you can enjoy adult beverages.

Great food for the price. Carnitas burrito and Cali burrito are two favorites. They also have breakfast - perfect breakfast for the gondola when skiing. Margaritas are really good. Great atmosphere for a restaurant in a bus station.

Went there with a group of friends and had Margaritas and Burrito's. The Margaritas were the worst Margaritas we ever had. Tasted like cheap Tripple Sec and a slash of sweet and sour mix. We could not even drink it. Disgusting. Safe your money and...go somewhere else.More

We are locals who have been to La Cantina and have had good food and margaritas. We were there a week ago and the margaritas were atrocious! We decided to try again last night. Completely un drinkable. We had to throw them out. We went...to the restaurant to give feedback. They didn’t seem to care much. Even when we told them they were so bad they had to be thrown out. Not really an apology just saying they followed the recipe to make them. Disappointing because being locals we would go there often but never again.More

Probably the best value in Vail. Homemade food and you must try the salsa bar! Worth the stop for a quick, affordable bite to eat!

Food was trash, service was trash, waste of money. The burrito my boyfriend ordered was dry and tasteless, I ordered the 2 mini burritos ($10) picked up beef thinking it was shredded and it was chunks of beef and fat in the middle it was...dry cold and disgusting. The cashier was also terrible, I am not coming here again.More

This is the place to stop in the central bus station. Food is cooked freshly to order. Beef taco's were about $8.50 - nice & crunchy with sides of beans and rice - a great value. Plenty of chips & salsa available,

My wife and I were in route from Denver to Grand Junction, CO, driving along I-70. The first 100 miles west of Denver are rather strenuous driving as the road rises and falls and twists and turns. By the time we reached Vail, we decided...to take a break. Vail is an interesting town, a mixture of resort, fantasyland, and functional city. After we departed the enclosed parking garage, we emerged in a foyer with an elevator to different levels of Vail on one side and La Cantina on the other. We had wanted to try Mexican food in places west of where we live (in Texas). For once my wife and I ordered the same thing ... cheese enchiladas. After her second bite, my wife whispered that she could make better. Well .... she can, but these enchiladas were average at best. They were toasted on the bottom and cool in the center. This says that they were frozen and microwaved. Likewise we were told that the plates might be hot when we got them. This suggests that the food was delivered from the freezer to the plate and then microwaved. That cooks the plate as well and makes it hot. I could do as well with a TV dinner.More

So happy to have found this dive kind of place. Plenty of chips and salsa and excellent food. Finally, a place where the price is right!!

I don't recall any children's menu, it is a small restaurant. Give them a call, there is probably something to suit.
