We typically do not love Germanic food. From the cheese fondue to the spaghetti to the fab salad to the soups, all was very tasty with incredible presentation and service with a smile. Our Austrian waitress was fantastic and personable. It was a great choice. Note it is hard to get in on a ski day. When we left at 4 there was a line. We reserved in open table fortunately.

Charming Swiss-Austrian-Alpine atmosphere for dinner, hidden away upstairs chock full of old wood, waitresses in Tracht, It was strange to travel during the COVID pandemic; for safety, we were asked to sit side by side on a quaint comfortable bench so that we wouldn't be within 6 feet of diners at the next table. Delicious Rosti, Kaiserschmarren. We were surprised to find these authentic dishes in the US.

Really this is a great restaurant to try at least once.
We were disappointed that the cedar wrapped fish was no longer available. The replacement steamed salmon (which 2 of our group ordered) was a little ordinary by comparison. The pork loin is fantastic... and they let 2 of us share that (it’s huge).
Good service, and a limited wine list.

I am giving 3 stars because between the time I booked a reservation and the time we dined, the entire menu changed and we were not notified. I made a reservation based off of the previous menu and was very surprised when we were seated and informed it was a prixe fixed menu and was a fondue experience. The website now reflects this, but it didn't at the time I booked. Our server was excellent, very nice and attentive. The place is very quaint and we have no complaints about the service or ambiance. The salads were very good. The fondue included steak, chicken and sausage, 2 cheeses, and vegetables. The quantities of meat were quite small. Some type of seasoning would be a nice addition. The lemon gelato was delicious. Overall we enjoyed the experience, but not sure the amount of food is worth the price.

My wife and I recently went on a river cruise across Germany. We had many great meals at the towns and villages we visited. Since then, we visited Vail Colorado for a romantic get away.
We dined one evening at Almrise and enjoyed a several course meal that rivaled any dining experience along the Rhine and Main rivers. Every course was outstanding and very authentic. The service was very hospitable and transported us back to Europe. Highly recommend this charming restaurant.

Travel to Bavaria without every leaving the US. What a wonderful way to cap off our first trip to Vail! Food and service are top notch and the atmosphere is charming! We started with the cheese fondue with veggies and bread and moved into our delicious entrees... two had the short ribs which just melt in your mouth. The third in our party enjoyed the salmon. We will definitely return on our next visit to Vail!

Handbook perfect in every aspect
The service was beyond great, making sure that we addressed all the food issues of one of the guests before ordering. As a European I love the ambience, it is true to what you'd find the alps. The food is delicious and truly alpine in generous portions.

There is no more authentic Austrian/German restaurant in Vail than the Almresi. Everything in this restaurant, from the Paulaner mugs to the ambiance inside, resembles a true Austrian restaurant. The food is terrific, and once again, authentic. The service was great, and if you're lucky, you'll get an Austrian waiter. I highly recommend the charcuterie board, which comes with an assortment of German meats and cheeses. I cannot imagine finding this level of authenticity anywhere in America other than the Almresi in Vail. Coming from a German, this was an breathtaking experience.

Nothing short of Amazing! Almresi has it all! The best food, service and atmosphere! They take pride in their Alpine dishes that are made with the best ingredients. The portions are satisfying and leave room for dessert! They have a bakery too! A must for dining in Vail!

Wonderful meal and service, even in these times of Covid. Make your reservation before you get to Vail because reservations are hard to come by. Pork shank is as good as any I have had in Germany and Austria. Worth the price and that is hard to say in Vail (See my review of the Swiss Chalet).

Pork shank was outta this world. My wife had the potato pancakes with salmon and they were ridiculously good. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our server, Ethan, was excellent and went out of his way to make our dinner great. We will be back.

Good service, good food, good decor and authentic dishes from Austria. I had the tomato soup and the schnitzel and all was great ! The presentation of the dishes is very original. I was expecting for them to offer the goulash, but they don’t offer it.

We had an amazing dinner at Almresi restuarant. Everything that we ate was excellent from the pretzle to the kaiser schmeron. The spaetzle and schnitzle and port loin and short ribs were all amazing!
Great dinner, great service. Warm and inviting environment.

The decor is like what you'd expect on a mountain eating hut in the alps. The menu has a lot of choices and what we ordered was outstanding. Great flavor and appropriate portions. Good beer and wine choices. Great service. Price is very appropriate to what you are getting.

Haven't been here for a couple years. Stopped in for lunch, got a table outside from a very nice host. Had bratwurst, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and cheese soup.
It was all superb!
We loved the outfits that the staff was wearing.
We have a second home here and we will definitely be back many times.,
