Enjoyed a wonderful evening dining experience in the Cellar! Our server was Micque (sp) was as amazing as the food and the atmosphere is unbeatable! With an extensive wine list and offerings for even the most picky of palletes, this is a must do dinner...venue if you are looking for fine dining in SteamBoat.More

Both by wife and I had the French Onion soup. It was delicious and hot. We then shared the Wagu beef entree which was enough for both of us. The food and service was excellent. A little pricey but good for special occasions like wedding...anniversaries which we celebrated.More

Harwigs has always been our favorite. The incredible food, amazing wine selection, welcoming staff and private dining room are epic. The best French onion soup in the world. Such a great experience for special occasions. Highly recommend gem in Steamboat!

Come for the wine list and stay for the food! Started with McClellan 12 and Escargot. Moved on to the prosciutto wrapped dates and one of the best bottles of Rose I have ever had. The evening ended with Caesar Salad and the Halibut, which...was poached and plated to perfection. Don't miss out on the glasses of bubbly with dessert. Overall, one of the best meals I have had in Steamboat, if not the best.More

Harwigs is hands down the best fine dining in Steamboat, if not all of Colorado. We were lucky enough to have an evening out with family this week, and the team at Harwigs took great care of us! Our waiter, Chris, was extremely attentive and...professional. Mike served us wonderful wine that paired perfectly with our meals. And the food... it was so unique and incredibly delicious! We will definitely be dining here again as soon as possible!More

Nice meal, a bit expensive, but tasty and light. I had PEI oysters at $3.50 each, minimum 6 (seems the restaurant added an extra dollar for them, but restaurants have suffered because of CV, so I wasn’t about to quibble over a dollar!) The oysters...came with cocktail sauce, horseradish, and a vinaigrette with onions. I also got butter leaf salad and it was quite lovely. Service was fantastic! I asked for a bev nap to wrap up my lemon and the server brought me a box with lemons, which was thoughtful. Sometimes it’s the small things that make me happy.More

Group dinners tend to be lackluster affairs as the menu choices diminish, and the quality typically follows. Harwigs did very well by our group and the appetizer courses they brought as well as our entrees were outstanding.

Was really looking forward to dining here based on the TA reviews. Harwigs is a small, friendly restaurant in downtown Steamboat Springs. Our group’s experience, though, was quite disappointing. We found the craft cocktails lackluster, even returned a couple for alternatives that unfortunately weren’t any...better. Though we thought the French onion soup was excellent, and we enjoyed the escargot, we had major problems with the main courses. The lamb and beef entrees were just not very good-either oddly seasoned or not great cuts of meat. Further, they did a major restaurant 101 no-no for our group that ordered the fish-they switched entrees (from sea bass to cod) without asking. Look, I get it-a small restaurant can run out of an entree, but its a major no-no to just switch an entree without asking the customer whether the alternative is acceptable. As it turned out, two of our group has to order something else when the cod came. Our waiter was very accommodating about this, as he was also surprised about this switch. So overall we had a disappointing experience here. I would have at least expected an explanation or an apology about the entrees. But between that issue, the cocktails, and the other entrees, I’d say this place is overrated-big time. Sorry.More

Sweetbreads starter was amazing! We explained precisely to the waiter, that we would prefer our halibut ($32) to be undercooked. He arrogantly told us that their owner/chef, JJ, was in the kitchen, and he knew how to cook fish. Of course the eraser texture of...our fish was inedible: my companion sent his back and I muscled through. Service continued to be aggressive and demeaning. I've been in the food & beverage business for over 40 years. I'd like to go back, because the setting is very nice & the menu is inventive: but possibly not order the fish. Dining room is very chic. Cellar room is available for private parties.More

In the summer they offer Thai Tuesday, and it is spot on. We loved the crispy egg rolls, and beef wraps for starters. The sea food pot and the beef on noodles was a good combo. Rose wine was a great match to it all.

My huband and I had one of the best dining experiences at Harwigs. When we entered we met Dennis, who was so friendly and fun. He sat us at a great table by the stained glass window. Then we were introduced to our waiter Aaron,...who was so knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. The service he gave us was top notch. He made great suggestions and was so pleasant. Everything we ordered was delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant!More

Great restaurant! The food was delicious. The duck appetizer and the beef tenderloin were really good. Some folks in our group had the duck and fish entrees that were good too. We were a group of about 10 people. Having made reservations ahead of time...they accommodated us in in a private dining room. It was perfect. Service was very attentive. The best restaurant we ate at in Steamboat.More

Dropped in for a late night dinner with another couple. The menu was fairly limited, but the food was excellent around the board. The service was excellent, but the kitchen was very slow. Odd given there was hardly anyone in the restaurant on a sleepy...mid-week night. Amazing wine selection as well.More
