Great time. You can see the trains. The beer is great. Did not try the food. A great place to relax and enjoy the fresh cool air.

We stopped here after driving the Million Dollar Highway to taste the local brews, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Great flavors! Such a fun place to visit! Love the ski boot flight! Super cool idea. We visited on day two of their newest offering of 32oz canned beers that you can bring home with you! Fantastic... More

We took a bus/train trip to Silverton and ate here for lunch. The Hawaiian pizza was amazing! Different than your normal Hawaiian but awesome! I tipped the bartender extra before leaving just because the pizza was so good. We thought we would have leftovers when we were served, but we destroyed both pizzas. My 15yo and 11yo have never had... More

As you would expect from Avalanche, the beer was great and they had many to choose from. Place is small but also has some nice patio seating outside weather willing. Menu is pretty simple with 12" pizzas being the main feature. Crust was really crispy with rosemary? in it, which made it really unique and tasty. Otherwise the pizza was... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, appetizers and pizza here. We got the bacon wrapped figs and they were wonderful. Got the pork taco and mushroom taco as an appetizer and they were great. Had the Napoleanito pizza and it was fabulous. Crust was perfect! Would highly recommend.

We stopped on our way on the Million Dollar Highway. It is an out of the way place since it's not on the main drag. The atmosphere was fun. The bartender/barista was great. We tried a few different brews and enjoyed some great pizza. The kids liked the root beer and grape soda that is bottled in Durango.

Our group of nine stopped by Avalanche after a weekend-long bachelor party off-grid in the Chicago Basin--we came hangry. The space was small but easily accommodated the high volume of patrons. Our group, a mixture of vegans, vegetarians, gluten free eaters, and folks with a more-standard diet, had all of our needs covered--vegan cheese, easily adjusted recipes, great beer. We... More

Today, 23 June 2016 my husband and I took the Silverton train ride and had lunch at the Avalanche. We ordered the Mediterranean pizza; the crust was awesome as the rest of the toppings. We received prompt and attentive service. The beer suggested by the staff was also very good.

Pizza was melt in your mouth good!! The crust is a perfect blend of hand tossed yet with a crispy bottom. We had mushrooms on our pizza and they were fresh and so full of flavor almost like they had been sautéed!!!

Description
Whether you're fueling up for your next adventure, or winding down from the end of your last epic, we strive to bring you the best food and beverage to compliment your visit to the rugged and beautiful San Juan mountains. Located at 1067 Notorious Blair St. in the heart of Silverton, Colorado's red light district. In the last seven years, the restaurant has undergone major renovations to bring you food made from scratch and CRAFT BEER! With the addition of our 7bbl brewery, we serve six of our very own elevated ales we hand craft just for you with some of the best tasting water on the planet! Summer 2016 has brought us new menus with lots of new options. We are serving up the same great artisan pizzas you've come to know, but added many new apps. Don't believe us? Ask a local! We've won the Taste of Silverton the last four years in a row and look forward to bringing home more awards from beer festivals in the coming years.
