I have taken several of my out of country guests on the train from Durango for many years and have eaten lunch at many of the Silverton restaurants. About five years ago my guests and I were walking down the main street and heard the honky tonk piano sounds coming from this restaurant. This drew us inside, and we were... More

I was very impressed that each time we went there there was a maître d' hired to make sure that everyone was well taken care of. We were impressed both by the sweet lady from Texas as well as the handlebar mustached local man. We even had a highly skilled waiter who had learned his craft in Portland Oregon. he... More

Like most, we took the train to Silverton and our friends took us to the Grand Restaurant and Saloon. Good call! As you walk in, you will find an old time piano player who takes requests. The restaurant is a throw back in time with beautiful ceilings, an antique bar and heads on the wall. As I only saw one... More

We came to Silverton on the train tour, glad we did. Great place to window shop, lots to see. We needed a drink so in we came. Live piano music, great bar and decorations. Can't comment on the food, but we had fun. 3$ drafts, Bud Light, and a 6$ mixed drink. Full bar and lots of beer selections.

My family and I have been visiting Silverton in summer since 1985. During our stay this past week, we ate dinner at The Grand twice; we wanted to patronize the restaurant as a way to show appreciation for how much time and effort has been spent in remodeling and updating this historic hotel - it is beautiful. We were glad... More

We stopped for lunch while on the Durango Silverton Train. Hubby had the Ruben sandwich and I had the tomato Parmesan soup of the day. Both were delicious. Our service from Blanca was extremely fast despite the fact that the restaurant was packed. I would rate the food a B+. Service was an A+.

We bought the "Step Back in Time" package which included the train ride from Durango to Silverton, a night at the Grand Imperial Hotel & lunch or dinner in their restaurant plus a return bus trip to Durango. The hotel is nicely decorated in period decor & is very clean. The man who greeted us was very nice & dressed... More

We had lunch at the Grand restaurant and Saloon on its opening day and enjoyed the ambience and food. It was fun watching the costumed staff and listening to the young woman who played the piano. We each had a hamburger, my husband with regular fries and I with sweet potato fries, which were very good. Eating here added to... More

We decided on this place over The Handlebar because of the great reviews I read. I feel like we were led astray on this one. I give this restaurant two stars. One star goes to Lacey, the piano player, who gets credit for luring us in the first place. She's a wonderful ragtime style player who truly knows her stuff.... More

We stopped in at the Grand Restaurant just before they were about the close for the day. We never felt rushed and it was never even mentioned to us that they were closing up. The staff simply went about their closing procedures while providing us with amazing and consistent service. The staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic!... More
