Great diner-type breakfast. We would highly recommend it. They have the best service you will ever encounter in a breakfast place.

The decor reminds me of a roadside diner from the 1980s which I found to be very charming. As for the quality of the food, I think it's pretty average. We had lunch there; the chicken fried steak and the hamburger sandwich. My husband, the Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, said that the hamburger was frozen, then thawed, and was... More

Recent trip to Salida for wheeling with the family brought us here one morning. Breakfast was average. Comparable to Village Inn and twice the price. We tried a smorgasbord of breakfast. Omelet, Frankie's, biscuits and gravy , pancakes.

Based upon TripAdvisor reviews, we enjoyed a very high value, if not basics of breakfast, meal. My over-easy eggs were perfectly cooked, with tasty hash browns and 3 standard sausage links. Two very large buttermilk pancakes came on the side. My spouse ordered regular french toast -- 3 standard slices -- and also enjoyed them. Coffee was served non-stop. Best... More

We waited only a short time for a table on a Saturday morning but waited 45-60 for our food for 2 people. Food was good but nothing above average. Prices were slightly high for breakfast. The women that hosts and serve were great! Will try other breakfasts in Salida next time

You can't go wrong, as witnessed by the constant line for a table......we have been going here for years, good food, friendly young ladies as staff and very conveniently positioned by highway 50...great for a pre ski breakfast or food whilst passing through. Highly recommended!

The friendly server brought a little carafe of coffee so we oils get our own refills. We ordered the Mexican breakfast which was eggs, hash browns and beans and a big serving of pork green chili. Two fluffy flour tortillas came with it. It was very busy but the short wait was worth it.

I don't know how they fix their pancake batter, but it is delicious. Everything was really good. The eggs, hashbrowns, and the pork green chile had the right amount of heat. If you are on your way to Monarch or headed that direction, check this place out! Everything was just awesome.

We checked this place out for both lunch and breakfast. For lunch, we got there about 11:30 and had to wait in line. When we ordered, they were already out of the lunch special. We ordered chicken fried steak and the cod platter. Good portions but nothing out of the ordinary. The breakfast was reasonably priced and portions were generous.... More

A group of us stopped here for breakfast. It's got a "small town feeling"... The dishes are pretty standard, although one of us had huevos rancheros and the portion was huge and quite tasty. The service was good and the employees are friendly.
