We had lunch there on a Sunday. It was not particularly busy, but service was slow and inattentive. Food was okay. Lamb chops were tasty but really standard fare for a traditional taverna. My wife chose liver which was also okay, but was served about 10 mins before they brought my dish. As I said, it was not busy!!! The... More

The fried potatoes were soggy, the lamp chops had a light smell we returned one dish (liver) because it was burned and prices were lightly high. Next time I'll try... More

The taverna seemed to be mostly frequented by Greek families which is usually a good sign. At first we sat outside in the courtyard but soon moved inside... More

It cannot get more authentic than this: based in a village with 80 inhabitants who own ~14,000 sheeps/goats, you know already that the ingredients are top notch. What you don't know is that the simple cooking required for these has been mastered to Zen perfection: it has the best goat 'trsigariasto/sfakiano' ever - don't leave Crete without tasting it! The... Every time I am in Chania, I make it a point to eat here. The food is great and it is local, and it is fresh. The owner, Niko, is a class act and I highly recommend you speak with him and get him to tell you some of his stories. The drive to the restaurant is amazing, driving through... More
