We walked over to Niwot while visiting our daughter and family. We sat outside in the shade covered patio and had a delightful lunch. The menu is limited, but with upscale offerings along with a bar menu. Would highly encourage trying this eatery if you are in the area.

It was already a rather hot summer morning but the shade trees and gentle breeze on Colterra's patio invited one to linger over brunch. First, there is no bad food here. Second, everything is sourced locally as much as possible including one of my favorites, the Hazel Dell mushrooms. The menu is Country French, including some Italian dishes. My husband... More

Over the years I've lived in Boulder, this has been a reliable, interesting and satisfying choice on summer evenings -- the large tree-shaded outside dining patio is a relaxing and comfortable place for dinner. As another reviewer said, the food could use some updating, but if one wants consistently excellent dining Colterra offers it. The only food criticism I have... More

We were staying at the Niwot Inn and a block away is a beautiful restaurant. The garden is a great place to eat in the summer. Our entrees were delicious and the appetizer and dessert were beautifully arranged and amazing. Service was excellent. A lovely setting!

I have been a loyal fan for years. The patio and garden are simply delightful. The cocktails are very creative and impressive. I applaud the local sourcing and recommend the daily risotto. I do feel the decor and menu need updating. Lunch is a good value. I wish they would bring back happy hour. Overall, a nice choice but room... More

My wife's parents took us to Colterra to celebrate her retirement. Our party of 5 was given the choice of inside or outside seating. We choose outside and were seated after a short wait at the bar. The atmosphere is Colorado informal with attentive but "no hovering" service. The outside tables are well separated which provides a feeling of privacy.... More

This restaurant is built in two old homes and also has a very nice outdoor dining area under the trees. It has a warm and rustic interior that is very inviting. I had an excellent Caesar Salad with crisp romaine, great garlic, and anchovy slices. The croutons were crunchy and delicious. I had the Lamb Ragout. The meat was a... More

I have meals all over this state, in most major towns and resorts; and, I find the very best food and ambiance at Colterra in Niwot, Boulder County. The staff from former; and now manager Micah to Chef Devon Myrick the service and food preparation was simply the very best I have had in a long time. We missed long... More

Over the past several years, several members of my family have told me what a wonderful restaurant Colterra is. When I finally got to eat there myself, I found that all of their propaganda was true! We started with cocktails and the special margarita was delicious with a good quantity of spice. My starter was a beet (beet-root) salad. I... More

Niwot has so much to offer! Ate outside for a late dinner. The food was pretty good and the service was friendly. Had the salmon, beets, and lamb ragu!
